HELP!! Case # 18770708
I have an ultra 4 plus. Was running 4.2.20. I installed 4.2.21 and the first time it booted was fine, but frontview said my volume didnt exist. Yet raidar showed the volume. So I did a shutdown. When it came back up it showed No volume. So I did another shutdown and it hung at Booting. I have since done 2 OS firmware and it says unable to extract firmware. So it says Booting... and I cant get in I cant see my drives. HELP!!

Re: HELP!!
Please open a tech support (http://www.readynas.com/support) case. Edit the thread title (i.e. subject of first post in the thread) to include your case number. NetGear will need to remotely login to your system to investigate this issue. They will provide you instructions on how to grant them access.

Re: HELP!! Case # 18770708
I have the same issue with Readynas Pro. I have tried OS reinstall and it still hangs at booting (it does get past extracting firmware though). It also does not appear in RAIDar. Next I will be trying a factory reset. Hopefully that will work. Any additional info available would be appreciated.

Re: HELP!!
A factory reset will wipe all your data. If you have a current backup or don't mind loosing what is on there then a factory reset may help. However, the advice that was given to dkotkin is what I would suggest for you also

Re: HELP!! Case # 18770708
Update:
I performed a factory reset and was able to boot. I immediately downgraded firmware to 4.2.20. I will hold at this version until more about this problem is known.

Re: HELP!! Case # 18770708
So I guess a level 3 tech was able to rebuild my partition. I was able to copy off the changes in files since my last full backup to my stand alone hard drive. I noticed that when I did a reboot after I got everything copied, the NAS was sluggish and not responding. Then after that reboot I got the same booting error. So I am going to do a full factory reset. But I have to thank the tech support guys who gave me the time to get the data that had changed since my last full backup which was 3 months off. But take my advice, make sure you have a current backup prior to upgrading any firmware. Even ones that say "minor changes" to the previous firmware.
