I have a ReadyNAS 3138 and had 2 drives pulled in an ill advised attempt to stop a beeping noise. Turned out that the beeping came from a UPS, whole other story.
During the attempts I pulled two drives being assured by an advisor that it would not damage the volume. They were wrong. Logs about the event to follow.

Feb 24, 2025 08:36:41 AM System: Alert message failed to send.
All this is to say I have a RAID 5 on here, was gifted by my employer and I'm just looking for a way to recover the volume without pulling the drives and using a NAS recovery software. I tried reaching out to Netgear and have been refused contact as this device is EOS, which is understandable. No ill will, this was my mistake which has led me here.
I have seen several tutorials on using SSH and am looking to simply recover the Volume. All disks show being part of data-0 and the group data-0 shows the correct 27.27tb. It does show zero free space. There is another volume of zero size called data.
Any help or guidance is appreciated!

Reboot up the system with all disks in place. Then download the full log zip file from the admin web logs page.
If you'd like me to analyze the zip file, then upload it to cloud storage (dropbox, google drive etc). Send me a PM (private message) with a link to the zip. Make sure the permissions are set so anyone with the link can download. Note you send a PM using the envelope icon in the upper right of the forum page.
Don't post the link publicly, as there is some privacy leakage when you do that.

FYI, hot-inserting the two disks you removed was also a mistake.

Re: Lost my Volume Readynas 3138 Pulled Drives
StevenB absolute legend! He was able to guide me through the correct parameters to rebuild my Volume. I am currently resynching. Lesson #1 don't pull drives. Lesson #2 don't listen to your local experts.
Just a big blessing to have a resource like this when Netgear is done supporting a project!
