NETGEAR READYNAS ULTRA 4 with WD30EZRX
Hi
Will the Readynas ultra 4 be compatible with the HDD Western Digital Caviar Green WD30EZRX.
WD30EZRX is really affordable compared to Western Digital Caviar Green WD30EZRS.
Any "to be listed" yet?
Other HDD´s in the 3TB category cost to much at the moment.
Other NAS is really not an option.
Choose a NAS is today really hard.

- j0kerAspirantWondering about the same.
My guess is it is supported;
They are somewhere sold together;

This doesn't mean they wont work. It just means Netgear may ask you to remove them from your ReadyNAS if they think they are the cause of a problem. From the link j0ker provided it looks like there is at least one company confident that they do work. I would be very cautious anytime you are looking at getting drives not on the supported list especially green drives which don't tend to handle the stress of a raid well.
- chirpaLuminaryWe have this model in-house. So far it has only been qualified on the NV+/Duo v2 models. The Ultra/Pro series is next for testing, but I can't give an ETA.
- ReadySECUREApprenticeGood to know! Here is hoping the testing goes well.
- tiranorAspirantI use one EZRX in my Ultra4, works like a charm, but it gets Load Cycle Count like crazy (got 180000 LCC in 6 months, around 1 per minute). Since then, i have tweaked the WD idle head parking (default at 8s inactivity) at 254s, so far so good (but tweaking isn't really business friendly).
