On-line but unresponsive NAS
First post so please excuse what may turn out to be a noob question.
I have had a ReadyNAS NV+ which is fitted with 4x 2TB WD hard drives. It has been operating great since June last year and was fine when used on Wednesday night. However, I went to stream a film to XBMC on a Windows 7 PC from it last night and XBMC filed to sync with the NAS drive. Had a look at the physical NAS and everything seemed to be powered, but I could not get the LCD screen to light up. Went onto RAIDar and the NAS showed up, all lights are green for the unit, but the 'Volume Status' light is blinking green. As I understand it this means the volume is syncing (and here's the possible noob part), but no discs have been added and no changes have been made to the NAS drive.
The NAS drive can be seen from a network scanner (it is on a static IP address), but does not appear any longer under the network tab on an explorer window. If I try to select 'Setup' from RAIDar a browser window will open to the IP address and ask for my UN & PW, but will just hang and not allow access. If I select 'Browse' the window freezes, and after a short time a pop-up opens saying the specified network name is no longer valid.
To all intents and purposes it seems like a have a functional NAS drive, but I don't, and I would greatLy welcome some advice please!

Re: On-line but unresponsive NAS
What do you see if you hover the mouse over the volume LED in RAIDar?

Re: On-line but unresponsive NAS
Ah, sorry, didn't know that would appear!
'Volume C: RAID Level X, Resync 30% complete, Time to finish 8 min, Speed 2561 MB/s; 4801GB (86%) of 5533 GB used'
Why would it be re-syncing out of curiosity?

Evidently the laws of physics don't apply around my NAS, because 10 minutes later it's saying the same thing as above in RAIDar!

Re: On-line but unresponsive NAS
Even if you close RAIDar and reopen it?
I guess something on the NAS must have crashed.
It could be syncing if a drive dropped out of the array then responded again.
What brand and model disks are installed (could see if you hover the mouse over the disk LED?)

Re: On-line but unresponsive NAS
Yes, I tried closing and re-opening RAIDar when the information was the same 10 minutes later, just in case.
I have 2x WD20EARX (1&3) and 2 x WD20EARS (2&4) in the NAS.
