ReadyNAS 214: Blinking backup light and NO access

Occassionally, my ReadyNAS 214 will disappear from my network. When I look at it, the Power light is on, the disk lights are on, and the backup light is slowly blinking (about once per second). RaidAr cannot find it, nor can it be logged in to. Pressing the power button does nothing. The only solution appears to be unplugging the unit. It always reboots quickly and normally.

I cannot find anything in the logs accessible from the web UI.

Any suggestions? I'd like to not have it just disappear from time to time.

What apps do you have installed?

    What firmware are you running?

FWIW, holding the power button down for 5+ seconds will normally forcibly power down the NAS.  Did you do that, or just press it momentarily?

I have tried holding the power button for 5 seconds. I will confirm that the next time it occurs.

Do you know what the flashing backup LED means?

        No, I don't.
