ReadyNAS 2304 6.10.4 Firmware has broken Volume data Rsynch backups

I still have this issue on 6.10.5 hotfix 1...does anyone know if this has been fixed yet?

Thanks.

I have noticed that case matters when creating exclusion rules so how would snapshots be written?

  • /data/.apps/ (Maybe apps store data here? Anyone know?)

This is where the apps are installed (/apps is a mount point for this folder).

Actually it turned out to be an undocumented setting change.  Go into the "advanced" page for the backup settings and make sure "Multiple File Systems" is checked for the volume backup job.

Note there is a warning in the help (the ? next to the setting) saying that you need an exclude rule in the backup job if you have snapshots on the volume (otherwise the snapshots would be included, which would greatly multiply the amount of space needed for the backup).
