ReadyNAS DUO (v1): Replaced a disk, led constantly pulsing
Hi guys,
Duo v1, 2 mirrored 1TB drives. Latest firmware (upgraded to latest about 2 months back)
Yesterday I cold replaced drive 1 of my Duo v1 and then started the box. After about 12 hours it still hasn't finished booting. The drive is a brand new WD 2TB drive from the Duo compatibility list. The power LED is pulsing about once a second and the fan is on constantly. When I replaced a drive previously I think that happened before and I assumed the NAS was formatting the drive before booting, as it wasn't pingable or discoverable in RAIDar. when it was eventually visible in RAIDar I got an email from the box telling me that the sync had started, so thats why I assumed it was formatting the drive before it was discoverable.
I didn't find any reference to the power LED pulsing once a second constantly without a break, is it formatting? Anyone know what that is? How long should it take? After 12 hours it isn't pingable or discoverable on RAIDar.
Cheers
John
