ReadyNAS NV+ Volume Correct?
Hi,
I purchased a ReadyNAS NV+ last week I have 4x2TB (WD20EARS) but when I look in the total volume available (see attached picture) its showing only 1846 GB available? Is this correct as I thought it would have been 3692 GB available?
Also whilst I have this post up, I have a WD Live Media Player, and connecting to the NAS box its asking for a password (even though every PC on the network can connect to the box fine without a password) anyone know a solution to why it wont allow access to the WD Live Box?
Thanks,
Rich

Re: ReadyNAS NV+ Volume Correct?
It should be about 5526 GB. For some reason you are only using 2 drives.

Perhaps the WD Live is connecting with user= admin ?

Re: ReadyNAS NV+ Volume Correct?
Yep managed to connect but its saying "NO MEDIA" yet theres hundreds of media in there!?
Anyone know how to fix the issue to get it to use all the drives?
Maybe I need to re-sync the drives?

Try renaming the "media" share e.g. to "media1" (don't forget to click Apply) then rename it back again.

Re: ReadyNAS NV+ Volume Correct?
That tip isn't for Sparc.
What version of RAIDiator came on the unit? Did it come with 4.1.8?

How do I get the unit to detect / use all 4 hard drives?

Re: ReadyNAS NV+ Volume Correct?
A factory reset only works with drives in place.
Please try this:
1. Backup all data
2. Do a factory default via System > Update > Factory Default (wipes all data, settings, everything).
This should resolve the problem ASAP. Considering that you haven't loaded much data on the unit yet this is definitely the way to go.

Re: ReadyNAS NV+ Volume Correct?
Do be aware a resync will have to take place, but the resync when you do a factory default is quicker than the alternative: two resyncs from adding one disk at a time

Re: ReadyNAS NV+ Volume Correct?
Thanks mdgm,
Problem has now rectified itself following your instructions, thanks!
I just need to figure out how to get the WD Live Media player to detect the media on the NAS. But I feel I might be better going to the WD Live forum to see if anyone can help me there.
Thanks!
Rich

Re: ReadyNAS NV+ Volume Correct?
There a few different options, I think such as CIFS and ReadyDLNA.
If you choose to use ReadyDLNA install the ReadyDLNA update: http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=76&t=27946
