ReadyNAS Pro Lost Internet connection
Hi,
Perhaps someone can help me out here...? My ReadyNAS PRO has been working just fine, except that I recently went to upgrade the firmware and discovered that the device is not connecting to the internet. The device otherwise works fine... all of the share are available to all of my workstations, etc., no problems there. It's got a fixed IP address, connected to a linksys E3200 router, then to a cable modem. Any guidance will be appreciated! 😄

Re: ReadyNAS Pro Lost Internet connection
Did you set the fixed I.P. address in Frontview or did you make the reservation using your router's reserved/static I.P. address list?

Re: ReadyNAS Pro Lost Internet connection
Hello,
Just to be sure there was nothing wrong with the file system after the firmware update. Why dont you just do an OS re-install and hopefully it will refresh OS setting.
"OS Re-install. Reinstalls the firmware from the internal flash to the disks. Use the OS reinstall boot mode when the system crashes and corrupts some configuration files. OS reinstall boot mode also resets some settings on your unit, such as Internet protocol settings and the administrator password, to defaults. "

Re: ReadyNAS Pro Lost Internet connection
John,
Thanks for your reply. I set the static IP address in the Radiator Software (I guess that's the same as Frontview). I don't think I'm going to take the OS-reinstall step just yet. My logic is that I didn't have an internet connection to the device before the firmware upgrade, so the upgrade isn't the culprit. That may be wrong and I may take that step in future, but for now, I think the firewall question is more likely...
SOOOO... I've entered a static ip forward on the applications/gaming tab of the router setup i/f. What ports should I be opening? It needs to know both the external and internal port numbers....
Am I doing the right think here?
Thanks,
Jeff

Re: ReadyNAS Pro Lost Internet connection
You shouldn't need to open any ports in the router in order for a firmware upgrade to connect. So you are almost certainly not going down the correct path.
