Readynas Duo v2 boot issues after disk failure

Hello,

I've been using a Readynas Duo v2 for years now, one disk failed recently and I removed it, now only my 2nd disk is in and I wanted to do a backup before upgrading disks to 2To (current ones are 1.5To), but the device can't boot anymore.

When trying to boot normally, after a few seconds every LED blinks, RAIDar indicates "corrupted root".
When trying to access boot menu, the power LED keeps blinking forever, fan turns max speed for hours (even days, I stopped after 24+ hours first time), no way to turn it off except removing power supply.

Any idea of what's happening here ?

I could get an image of the disk with dd_rescue before all this, but it has no partition table, any idea of how to make the disk work again with the NAS ? And if not, how to get data back ?

Are you sure you have a v2?
See here:

So you cannot access the boot menu? Have you tried removing your disk, inserting a spare disk into slot 1 and factory defaulting the unit?

Did you clone the disk?
