Remote User on ReadyNAS duo v2

Hello,

At first sry for my English, I'm German.

I try to set up my Readynas duo v2 with Remote Acess. I istalled the Client on my Desktop and get it started an I created an Account. After that i activateds Remote Acess in the ReadyNas Control Panel. And now the Problem is, if i try to add an Remote User i have to search the e-Mail Adress, but there are no Search results shown.

Hope someone can Help me or tell me another way to set up my "old" Readynas duo v2 as a cloud Server

Re: Remote User on ReadyNAS duo v2

Netgear dropped the older Remote service last September, so unfortunately there is no way to do this with Netgear services or apps.

There is an add-on called OwnCloud which you can get from here:  https://rnxtras.com/add-ons/owncloud-9-all-readynas-platforms-65860  There is a modest charge for the app (about 3 Euros).   It offers similar capabilities to ReadyCloud.

Hi @Askii

Welcome to the Community!

You may also want to consider changing your NAS to an OS 6 Unit, it Supports ReadyCloud and of course the latest updates.

You can't convert your NAS to OS-6 - among other reasons, the memory is inadequate.  @MarcV meant you could purchase a new OS-6 NAS.

Hi @Askii

Sorry but @StephenB is correct your unit is not upgradeable to OS6, You might just want to upgrade to a new NAS unit/model which runs on OS6.

Re: Remote User on ReadyNAS duo v2

Hello,

at first thanks for your help. I purchased OwnCloud but now i have the next Issue. If i Try to install the donloaded Addon (.bin file) my NAS shows the percent up to 100% and after that it shows me an Error Message. I really hope you can help me. The NAS has a connection to the internet, i can acess it via FTP, so i do not know where is the problem.

Thanks for help

Manuel

It's best to contact whocares (via his rnxtras.com forum).  One reason he charges for apps is that he supports them.
