Set up sharing
I have had my readynas duo for awhile now and use it to stream movies to my tv and share files between machines locally on my network. I have always wanted to access these files when I am am not at home. I am not very savvy when it comes to networking and am not sure how to set it up. The long and the short of it is I have a windows 8 laptop that I want to use to access the files on the readynas while I am at work. I also have a windows 8 desktop and a airport extreme router. What else do I need? Is there a simple guide I can use to set it up? Thanks

ReadyNAS Remote.
https://remote.readynas.com/download.html
install add-on on nas, create remote account, link your account to the NAS, and you will be able to access remotely (like on your iPad or any computer you use that will install Remote).

Re: Set up sharing
Or, you can forward port 80 and 443 to your NAS and use http://ip/shares and turn on HTTP access to your shares.
Does not work with private home shares.
