Time Machine SMB3 support
Are there plans (or I am I missing something) to bring SMB3 support to time machine backup targets?

Re: Time Machine SMB3 support
This sounds like something for the Idea Exchange for ReadyNAS
Do you have a problem with the current Time Machine support that uses AFP?

Re: Time Machine SMB3 support
Currently I do not but I don't think AFP is going to be the standard for time machine much longer. Was just trying to get ahead of the curve on moving things over to SMB3 in advance.
If you would like to move this to the idea exchange that would be great and thank you for the help!

Re: Time Machine SMB3 support
You could create a post in the Idea Exchange if you want.
If Apple drops AFP support for Time Machine that would obviously force our hand. AFP Time Machine support will still be needed for systems that can't run versions of OS X that can use SMB for Time Machine backups over the network.
