Ultra 2 - suddenly no SSH access

I have had SSH access (using both PuTTY and WinSCP) to my Ultra2 since first setting it up, but today am suddenly getting "Network error: Connection refused" when trying to connect (before even getting to attempt to log on). FTP access via FileZilla is still fine and everything else appears to be functioning without problem. I have tried reinstalling the EnableRootSSH addon but this made no difference.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I need to do to fix this?

Yes, but I don't even get to the point of being able to enter the user.
