Unable to create passworded share and make it work

Hi there,

I have just purchased a Readynas ultra 6000 and have installed 4 WD red 3tb disks. All the installation went well until we tried to create a personal share that was password protected.

we tried all combinations (we think) and failed. My question to the forum... and yes I have read the manual and maybe I have missed something.... is, how do I create a share that is password protected. There is the option to hide a share and thats fine... how to create a password protected share?

Kind Regards
Simon

Create a share, set default access to disabled and disable guest access. Specify the users/groups you want to have read/write or read-only access.

All good... I also set the share as hidden as well. Thanks for that.

You can also create a private share when you add a user, which is hidden from other users by default. See page 63 here: http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/ ... Sep-11.pdf
