What Model Do I Have? ReadyNAS Pro 4 or NVX
Can someone please help me determine exactly which ReadyNAS version I have? The following data points make me think that I have a ReadyNAS Pro 4:
- When I log into the web interface for the device it says "ReadyNas Pro 4" in the upper right hand corner
- The boot_info.log file that I downloaded from the device says "model: ReadyNAS Pro 4" and "loader: RNDP4000-V1"
But, when I download the bios_ver.log file from the device (using the web GUI) it says the following which makes me think that I have an NVX:
- 09/20/2010 ReadyNAS-NVX-V2 V1.9
Can someone help me find a definitive answer? I'd like to try upgrading this unit to run the more recent OS6 so that I can turn off the SMB1 protocol on the device whlie still maintaining connectivity from my Windows machines. Thanks.

Re: What Model Do I Have? ReadyNAS Pro 4 or NVX
It's a Pro 4 with an old BIOS (the latest BIOS for your unit is dated 08/23/2011). So if you want to update the BIOS it would be best to do so before updating to OS6.
The Pro 4 has a 64-bit CPU and can run OS6. The NVX, 2100v1 and 1500 have 32-bit CPUs and cannot run OS6.
It's likely that NVX v2 was a project name during the early stages of the development of the Ultra 4/Ultra 4 Plus/Pro 4 but we went with a different product name.

You would simply install this add-on
Don't interrupt it and don't remove power to the system during the installation.
