Where should I buy a spare disk for my ReadyNAS NV+?

My ReadyNAS NV+ is displaying a warning message. One of the disks is failing, and I would like to buy another as similar/identical as possible. It is a Western Digital 500GB.

How much should I expect to pay?

TIA

it says between 50$ and 90$ depending on which exact model. Western digital has several series, the main are blue, green (low power), black (fast) and RE (made for raid). You can figure out the exact reference with the model number of the drive. it should begin with WD500 and be identical for your two drives if you bought them together.

Buying a spare disk NAS NV+

Concord,

I put up this post some months back
http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=50&t=74006&p=411228&hilit=500Gig#p411228

I would be surprised if you can still buy 500Gig disks. 1 Tera/ 2Tera work in NV+.

See compatibility list, and click on "Legacy" first, and then model # to activate the drop down menu. I am guessing you have an NV+ v1.

If the other disks are also 500Gig, then you would be using 500Gig of 1Tera (1000Gig) area. Ie not the full space,
when using XRAID.
Regards, Marto
