"Remove inactive volumes to use the disk. Disk #4." on a ReadyNAS 2120

We have a four bay ReadyNAS 2120, with 6 terabyte drives in all four bays, and they are on RaidX. Currently on firmware 6.8.0 and says it is up to date. Suddenly one drive has a red dot and says "remove inactive volumes to use the disk. disk #4." The only option it gives me is to "destroy" the volume. The NAS is up and running and useable otherwise.

The system state is "healthy." There are no references to the disk going offline or having errors. The logs for everything is just snapshots with green lights. The physical front of the NAS has no warning lights. When I hover over disk #4 it says it's online, no errors, etc.

What RAID mode were you using?  Is that disk JBOD, or part of some other array?

All four disks are in a RAID X array.

Probably the best approach is to contact support (my.netgear.com).

Thanks, I did. Looks like it's a firmware bug. Should be fixed next week.
