re-install on a Mac from a PC

I have installed RAIDar 4.3.8 which has identified my ReadyNAS Duo with the correct IP address. In Finder I have AFP on nas-**-**-** and nas-**-**-**-** (CIFS). When I click on the CIFS entry it shows Connection Failed and when I click on Connect As I get a window saying 'There was a problem connecting ....'

I cannot connect to Frontview either.

I am using a Mac with Maverick X

Any ideas of what is wrong? TIA

What do you see under the Info (far right) column in RAIDar?

Is your Mac connected to your network via wireless or ethernet?

Ethernet. But I have just noticed that the act light on the NAS is flickering.

What happens if you try connecting using AFP?

Within RAIDar the green light after the IP address field is flashing, which I think is the same as the act light on the ReadyNAS

Is the I.P. of the NAS in the same range as the I.P. of your Mac?

Re: re-install on a Mac from a PC

My Mac is on 192.16.8.0.* and the ReadyNAS is on 192.168.1.*

Re: re-install on a Mac from a PC

That should have read 192.168.0.* for my Mac

Re: re-install on a Mac from a PC

Thanks mdvm, your last question pushed me in the right direction and having changed the IP address on my NAS I can now read it. Thanks again!
