Frontview webpage loading partial
I am unable to log onto my old ReadyNAS Pro 4 anymore after doing a factory reset. I can configure the unit via RAIDar but once I want to login to the web interface it gives a partial loaded page. It basically shows the Frontview template but does not show any buttons except the top right three.
I have tried the following with no success:
- Changed browser type and versions
- Changed computers and operating systems
- Upgraded and downgraded via the USB recovery with almost all versions
- Did several factory resets and OS re-install
- Checked disk
- Checked memory
- Formated drives
- Changed network ports on the unit
- Cannot see anything wrong in the frontview error log via tech support except some missing files like robot.txt from the frontview resource directory
I contact Netgear support and they said the device is EOD and I have to buy a support contract which is way to expensive for a normal person.
In tech support mode I use the following to get to the "live" disk to check for errors:

USB Boot Recovery can cause this issue. We do not recommend trying USB Boot Recovery unless we ask for it to be tried. The EEPROM can get corrupted. This requires a remote fix.- Thanks for the reply - this would imply the EEPROM is corrupt? Is there a way to reset this or does it require special equipment?
- Is the unit still under warranty? (5 years)
- It could be but as far as I can tell it is EOL - would the warranty still be in-effective even though it is end-of-life?
Anyway - hope there is a way to fix this without going through a lengthy warranty/swap-out procedure. At least there is no data on the unit that I might need. - New feature development has stopped, but warranty is not affected by that. Support should be able to fix your issue - I suspect that they can do it remotely, which wouldn't require an RMA - but am not sure how they'd handle it.
- When I contacted support and gave my serial number they said they can only help me further if I have a support contract :(
PS: I noticed I have actually full internet access while in Tech Support Mode.
They charge for phone/chat support. email support is included in the warranty. The device that you have is already out of support warranty. For you to extend your support, you may need to purchase a support contract from us. For now, what I can do is to refer you to our support website support.netgear.com and click Support for Business or http://forum1.netgear.com/ - The warranty is 5 years. I think the pro was introduced in 2008, so it is possible that you are out of warranty. Do you have any records of when you purchased?
http://forum1.netgear.com isn't the right link for NAS of course (though it does have a link to this forum). - According to the post here http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=40162&start=0 it seems we have the same issue. The screenshot is also exactly what I am seeing.
