Migrating DiskS from an Readynas Pro6 (OS6) to a Readynas 516

Is it possible to move the disks over in the exact order to the 516 and be able to pick up where I left off?

Both are x86, so if the volume is healthy, etc., there shouldn't be any problem.

1. Gracefully shut down the Pro 6.

2. Use a scratch disk to update the firmware on the 516 (scratch disk, Factory Default, update F/W, shut down, remove scratch disk).

3. Insert the disks into the 516, preferably in same order.

4. Boot the 516.

Of course, you should always have a backup of your data as you see fit, especially when preparing this type of operation.

Also we have a newer model the RN526X available. If you haven't bought the RN516 yet you may also wish to consider the newer unit.
