ReadyNAS Ultra backyp/rsync to my 102 ?
Hi all, got me a 102 (sw 6.2.2) with 2 x 3 TB WD this fall to replace my old ReadyNAS Ultra (running 4.2.27). Now, instead of just scrapping my ReadyNAS Ultra (which works fine but a bit slow) - I wonder if anyone has a tip on how I can use the Ultra as an automated backup (weekly, incremental or rsync mirroring) to the 102 ?
Any ideas and suggestions are highly appreciated. I am a moderately advanced user, but not more than that.
Best regards

- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserIt's easy enough to do. Try creating a test share on the ultra, and enable the rsync service (and enable rsync for the share). Then create an rsync backup job on the RN102, which has the ultra's share as the destination. Generally I find I need to use the IP address and not the name.
The RN102 delivers about 50 MB/s write and 70 MB/S read. Though your ultra should be somewhat faster (the equivalent model in OS6 land is the RN300 series). Have you benchmarked the performance of both machines? NAStester is a easy way to do that (http://www.808.dk/?code-csharp-nas-performance) - Olof63GuideHi, really sounds simple - thanks for the tip and I'll get started on it today. Tx !
