Does the "NETGEAR A6210 WiFi USB Adapter" support Miracast?

Does the "NETGEAR A6210 WiFi USB Adapter" support Miracast?

So I recently purchased a Microsoft Display adapter for my television. The hope was to screenshare my computer to my tv. Simply right? Well turns out when I go to Notification Center -> Connect on my PC, I receive the following message:

"Your PC does not support mirracast".

Ok, so my hunch is my wireless adapter (i.e. NETGEAR A6210 WiFi USB Adapter) is the weakest link here.

So more background about my system:

- GeForce GT 740 graphics card

- Windows 10

- Intel COre i7-5820K CPU

- x64 bit operating system

Any help please? I feel like this should be a simple fix. I am fairly certain it is the wirless adapter I am using :/.

Re: Does the "NETGEAR A6210 WiFi USB Adapter" support Miracast?

I’m having a similar issue… basically no option to connect to a wireless display

My Specs

Window 10 Pro

A6210  Driver 5.1.22.0

But the strange thing is that if I enable my on-board wifi I am able to choose to connect to a wireless display.

I have a laptop with the with builtin network wifi

Dell Wireless 1705 802.11b/g/n 2.4GHZ

This card works fine to connect to the display but since I’m in an apartment complex the video transmission gets allot of interference.  So I decided to purchase the following

Netgear A6210 USB wireless adapter 2.4/5GHz dual band  (Transmitter)

ScreenBeamMini2  WiFi certified Miracast 2.4 or 5GHz wifi (Receiver)

So basically I was attempting to broadcast and receive on the 5GHz spectrum so I wouldn’t get any interference.  But I can’t get the Netgear A6210 to transmit to the display.  Windows 10 doesn’t see that it has the capability??

So is there an update for the A6210 Dual Band USB 3.0 adaptor that will allow for wireless display ability?  Or what netgear 5GHz network adaptor do I need to purchase?

Miracast works if your routers support. Say it can be configured via ad-hoc or infrastructure mode. Try connecting via router so that it could work if ad hoc fails

Hi hmatt415 and kidmicro,

The adapter does not supports Miracast, The only NETGEAR device that supports miracast is the PTV3000 which is EoL already but for Wireless adapters, none of the it works with Miracast.

I do see that. But DLNA works out of box even to stream to Chromecast works flawlessly.

if you are trying to project taken camera video or internal video try using some casting media player like cyberlink power dvd 16.

Is that ("none of them works with Miracast") still the case?

Thanks.
