its actually done by the router. The extender has to use the same channel the router is on so changing the wireless channel, changes which one the extender uses.
What extender is it? AC2200 is a speed.
What firmware is on it?
Waht router is it connecting to?

Re: AC2200 nighthawk extender.
if you unplug it and plug it in elsewhere, it should retain its settings and be able to autoconnect.

Re: AC2200 nighthawk extender.
auto connect back to the router or the devices to the extender?
Reason I ask that is if you move it somewhere where the service is sketchy, something is blocking wifi (think things in walls like hvac), or its just out of range, then it won't/can't connect.

Re: AC2200 nighthawk extender.
I've seen of several people that had issues with the .210 firmware. I'd try downgrading it to the .206 firmware version and then disable auto-updates. skip the .210 version.

Re: AC2200 nighthawk extender.
the .206 has been more reliable from what I've seen on the forums.
The support site has the manual that goes over the install process.

Re: AC2200 nighthawk extender.
I have loaded the 206 and still cannot get the app on my android to work , looks like I'm going to have to stick with windows 10 to access.

Re: AC2200 nighthawk extender.
What app are you having issues with?
I read back through the conversation and it was more about it auto connecting. so I'm a bit confused at the turn in conversation and whats going on exactly

Re: AC2200 nighthawk extender.
Yes I asked if I disconnected the power to move extender if it would auto connect because I had a problem with it connecting, but after inial setup the nighthawk app will not connect if I click anywhere connect it has local connection available but it will not auto find the extender.
