Nighthawk AC1900 Model EX7000 SN 46D57C7FA2717

Just bought this extender.  Needed it because couldn't get automated blinds to access internet.  Still blinds not installed; will be installed end of month.

2 questions:

How do I know this extender is really working?

The 3 Antennae keep falling down.  I have them screwed in, etc., but I point them outward and they just fall over!

I'm new at this.  So please help with not so technical response.  Please HELP!

Hi @gerz,

Did you tried setting it up using WPS or browser method? For antenna, ensure it was screwed in properly but not too hard since it might damage the threads to which you are screwing it to the device.

I used the browser method.

Re the antennae, yes I screwed them in securely but not over tight.

It's the part of each antenna which you can move around that falls down.

Hi @gerz,

Scan and connect your devices to _2GEXT or _5GEXT network which is your extender's network to see if it works. Also, ensure 2.4 and 5GHz LEDs on extender is Green which will indicates that extender is connected to your router. For antennas, see if you can make them stay in a position.

I don't see where the light is!  I've looked on all sides and I don't see a light and I don't see where the light should be.

As for the antennae, I'm trying to keep the antennae in place, but with the slightest movement around them, they fall down.

Hi @gerz,

I have attached a picture indicating where lights must be. To know more about LED status, you can check the user manual http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/EX7000/EX7000_UM_21dec2014.pdf in page 7 and 8.

Re: Nighthawk AC1900 Model EX7000 SN 46D57C7FA2717

thanks.  there no lights on.  i powered it off and then on.  there are now green lightes.  I recall, when I initially set it up, there were green lites.  However, they had since gone off and I didn't realize that until your response.  Why would they have gone out?  I did move it and so pulled the plug out.  Could that have done it?  So green lites and it's working.  But how do I find out if it's really helping here in the house and actually extending the signal for me?

I'm really getting sick and tired of these antennae falling down.  I wrote to Netgear support about it the same day I originally started this thread. But haven't heard a word back.  do you think I should get a replacement?

Hi @gerz,

That could be the cause. Regarding antenna, please call support so that they can check product's warranty and help you accordingly.
