R8000 - WiFi connection is not connecting on all devices

Phones will concert but laptop and PS4 are not connecting. Just started on Saturday, fixed for a day and now an issue. Have updated to most recent firmware update.

What actual firmware number are you on?

What modem is it connected to? 

Are you using smart connect? 

Is it an issue when they try to connect to 5ghz or 2.4gh?

Connected to a spectrum modem
Not familiar with smart connect.
We had multiple devices in our house that could connect Friday night. Never an issue. 1 device could not connect on Saturday so updated to new firmware and has been a mess ever since. No gaming systems can connect, only 1 TV connects to Netflix. 1/2 of our phones connect. Not all of DirecTV are connected. I have restated internet, modem and reset to the router as well. Same story new day. Any ideas on what is the issue?

Anytime you change firmware and are having issues, a reasonable step is to try to factory reset the router and reinstall it. 

I'd actually go 1 step further and reinstall the new firmware over a hardwired connection, then factory reset, and reinstall.

Reason why is a reset only removes old settings that can be causing issues. but if it was a problem from the firmware update (like corrupt firmware) it won't fix the problem. Reinstalling can overwrite firmware. So you hit potentially both fixes. The corrupt firmware or an old settings causing issue.

Thanks for the info.

Have done the factory reset twice since Saturday and each time shows updated firmware. Update on Saturday fixed issue but then popped up again yesterday so that made me do the second factory reset. Did not fix issue so will attempt the hardwire connection to see if that works later today.
