Spam / Hack initiated from Netgear support
Could a moderator/admin please get in touch with me. I have just experienced the exact same situation as this thread (https://community.netgear.com/t5/Nighthawk-Wi-Fi-5-AC-Routers/2nd-try-Scam-that-started-with-Netgear...), to the letter, exactly 2 years later to the day from that original report.
I used the chat option on netgear.com, spoke with a netgear concierge about assisting with a netgear extender. They indicated a tech would call in 5 minutes, which they did, and proceeded to use ultraviewer to remotely access my PC. Complained I had been hacked and offered some monitoring service for $100s / month or $400/year.
Potentially netgear concierge providing details to 3rd party and this has been ongoing for quite some time. Even called from the exact same phone number as reported in the other thread linked above.

If you have a problem with a NG extender, please post about it in this forum and see if free help in this forum can help you out first before making contact with NG official support.

Re: Spam / Hack initiated from Netgear support
Tried those channels but the router is out of support so I couldn't even open a case. I'm more concered at this point about getting in touch with a human who can investigate how potential scam artists are gaining names and phone numbers through their concierge channels.
