extender works great until IP lease expires
hello, we have the EX8000 WiFi Range Extender and it's great until the connected devices' (iPhones, iPads, Mac Book Pro, Mac Book Airs) IP lease expires and we get "No Internet Connection". the expired devices will then have a 169.x.x.x address.
the EX8000 status shows the WiFi extender connection is up and running. EX8000 is set for a static address of 192.168.1.230. firmware has been updated to the most current.
MAC filtering/Access Control is not enabled on the router (Linksys EA8500). i've looked at the EX8000 manual instructions for MAC filtering but it's not clear if we enter the translated MAC addresses at the router whether these should be Denied or Allowed Access?
usually, power cycling the EX8000 fixes everything. if not, power cycling the Linksys router does.
any other suggestions for troubleshooting this? my son gets furious when his Fortnite session gets interrupted...

Re: extender works great until IP lease expires
You should enter the mac address in the routers settings under allowed devices.
