wifi extender help

Hi I have a AC750 wifi extender, i had a ethernet cable connected to this from my modem to another part of the house, it worked fine then stopped, i bought a wn3000rpv3 wifi extender to replace it but i cant get anything working. the extender is for a holiday cottage so my clients can have access to the internet, its to far away not to use an ethernet cable. can someone give me simple instructions please

If you are using a modem-router combo and have an Ethernet cable connected from it going to the WN3000RPv3, then you can use the extender in access point mode as described in page 15 of the user manual on this link.
