Firmware update and admin password
I was trying to do a firmware update. I logged in and got stuck at entering the admin password. I entered the word password. It didn't work. Then I clicked on the link to follow the steps to reset it and the link didn't work. I went to a different device and typed it in and it didn't work. I don't believe I ever changed it but either way I am totally stuck. I have spent at least 30 minutes trying to find the answer and have not found anything helpful.

R6700[v1], R6700v2, or R6700v3? Look for "Model" on the product
label.

Apparently, someone changed the password from its default value.

I don't know what that "the link" might have been, or what those "the
steps" were, or what happened when it "didn't work".
If you don't know the password, and Netgear's unreliable password
recovery procedure fails, then the remaining option is to reset the
router's settings (which include that password).
Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your (actual) model number,
and look for Documentation. Get the User Manual (at least). Read.
Look for "Factory Settings" and/or "Reset button".
