53 TopicsConnecting AC1200 EX6150-100NAS Range Extender to Ring Video Doorbell
I connected my AC1200 range extender to my FiOS router yesterday and my iPhone and Mac had no trouble connecting to the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands on the range extender. When I tried to connect my Ring Doorbell, however, it only detected the 2.4GHz band, and couldn't connect to the range extender. It connected to my FiOS router just fine, but the range means that the doorbell has a poor connection. This is why I purchased the range extender in the first place. Has someone managed to successfully do this before? I'd hate to return the range extender, but I may need to. Thanks.Solved17KViews0likes3CommentsAC1200 R6220 ROUTER keeps disconnecting
I just plugged my router up about 2 weeks ago and from day one, it has been dropping the signal a few times per hour. It drops on 2.4 and 5g. I usually have 1 laptop and 2 cell phones connected to it, and signal is lost to all of them. I also have one thing plugged into it directly and that loses signal as well. It always comes back on within a few minutes or if I turn the router off and back on. Is there a way to fix this issue or do I need to send it back to Netgear?SolvedFirmware upgrade of AC1200 (EX6150v2) seems to have bricked device
It is actually a EX6150 v2 but that Model was not available from the drop down Logged in last night to change my config so the extended network had separate SSIDs from the router (D7000 AC1900) as it regularly stopped the Wifi HP printer connecting to the wifi. The Netgear software suggested upgrading to the latest firmware (sorry cannot remember what version) which downloaded to 100% and then applied itself to 100% and recycled itself. Unfortunately it never came back. The power light came back on but no configuration and no way to access. A router reset illuminates the row of Router and client LEDs in pink but once they extinguish only the power light remains on and whether I am in extender mode or Access Point mode I cannot find anyway to access the extender. It was originally sourced from the BETA program and had worked fine for 6 months or so. Does anyone have any ideas on how I could recover the device?4.3KViews1like2Comments29% power with N300, would it be better with AC1200 ?
Hi community ! I have installed a N300 WiFi extender but the connection is bad. I have only 29% signal power between my router and my extender ! If I replace the N300 for a AC1200, would I have a better connection between my router and my extender ? I can't place the N300 close to the router because it's a perfect place regarding the position of the device I want to connect ! Thanks for your answers :) Romain PS : Sorry for my bad English, I'm a french Netgear user ;)3.8KViews1like1CommentAC 1200 Range Extender MAC book pro shows "ip address assigned automaticly" and won't connect to net
The set up went off without a hitch. I can see the extender in my networl preferences, but my MAC BookPro won't connect to it. I get an error message in the network preferences saying "ip address assigned automaticly can't connect". I've searched the internet but can't seem to find anything that solves this problem. I reset the extender to factory settings and started the process all over again. Setup worked great, with the same error. iPad also can not connect.4.1KViews0likes6Comments5GHz Light stays "off" EX6200 Why?
I can't get the 5Ghz EX6200 light to stay on solid. I spent an hour on the phone with a Netgear Technician. He told me that unless I have a device that uses 5GHz the Extender 5Hz will not light up. He said that the 5Ghz won't work with an Android phone. I have a Galaxy 5 Active. This puzzles me because I have a 5Ghz Netgear router at home and my Android connects to it just fine. I told the Netgear expert this and I was told that it depends on what I have installed???? I finally told him that I seem to be wasting our time. I'm and Electrical Engineer, and it is illogical that I can use my Netgear Router at home and connect, but not the Netgear Extender at work. With the same Android phone. So should the 5GHz lightup and stay lit on the Netgear 6200 or not. When should it light up ? Always or only when there is a connection to and Apple device as I was told by Netgear? Personally I think there is something wrong with the 5GHz portions of this extender. So frustrating!!:mad:15KViews0likes2CommentsLooses connection
Hi, I have the EX6200 working in FastLane mode where it connects via 5Ghz to my router (AirPort Extreme last generation) and then using wires I connect some other stuff to it. Well, all this works fine, but then after 2-3 days the extender looses its connection to the router and such those wired devices cannot see anymore my network. I have to switch off and on (using the button on rear side) the extender and then it reconnects fine and all works fine again. That's getting quite annoying. I have another extender from Gateway and that guy is always connected, never lost connection. I did update the firmware to 1.0.0.46 but the problem persists. Any ideas why this might happen? I chose the EX6200 because of the wifi C connectivity, as I need to stream BlueRay rips from my server to a box that plays them on TV, the Gateway extender which is only N could not handle such a rate transfer.46KViews0likes43CommentsEthernet-attached printer gets static IP but can't be pinged??
I have a network printer, plugged in via Ethernet cable to port #3 on the Extender. The printer is listed on the Attached Devices tab when I admin the Extender, and its virtual MAC address has been added to my Allow list on the router. I can also see this printer (at its static IP, 10.0.1.109) via LanScan from a computer on my main network (wired to the router). So, I know the printer got to the Extender and out to the main router. But when I ping this address it says Request timeout, and none of my printer configuration utilities can seem to reach it. What do I do - why is the printer unreachable even though it appears to have gotten its static IP address and the main router knows about it?9.9KViews0likes1CommentGood connection - Poor speed
So I have the EX6200 setup in a granny flat and it was giving me 25-35 Mbps speeds. Suddenly there was a drop in speed to around 2 Mbps. After talking to telstra and making sure my gateway was fine I put my extender next to the gateway and I get 35+ speeds. Putting it back to its original location I still only get 2 Mbps. The thing is I can stand right next to the extender and connect to the gateway directly and get speed of 28+. I have no idea why the EX6200 has suddenly stopped putting through the speeds it had previously. It still has a solid green light connection to the 2.4 gateway (5 not supported)11KViews0likes2Comments
