Nighthawk C7000v2 Freezing
Wanted to know if anyone else who purchased this cable modem router has had the issue of the unit just freezing up and it not working. Purchased this in 2023. Had it activated with Spectrum and the issues began. Was on with tech support both Spectrum and Netgear for a straight week. Decided to go back to my old Spectrum supplied modem with my Nighthawk WiFi... Last week, since I still had the unit as a paperweight, decided to try it again. Same thing happened and after a day put it back in the box. Since I no longer have support, has anyone had the same issue and/or has something been off with these units that someone has figured out? I have looked at the community blogs and seems that some people did hard resets, firmware updates to correct the issue but I have also done the same only my results have not made the unit viable.Random disconnects: C7000v2 (Nighthawk AC1900)
Throughout the day, I experience random disconnects from the internet for roughly 30 seconds to 1 minute at a time. This will happen seemingly randomly, whether my computer is using the connection through ethernet, or my girlfriend is up late watching TikTok. I have contacted my ISP and gone through all of the regular troubleshooting, and I was hoping that someone could point me in the right direction! My ISP is Breezeline, and I have contacted them repeatedly about this issue, since it has been ongoing since I got their service and the Netgear modem in April. They have issued signal resets, gone through the process of unplugging and reconnection my modem, and even sent out a tech a little over a week ago. The tech said that nothing was wrong on Breezeline's end, and the only thing he did was replace a corroded connection on the outside of the buildings. I attempted to show him the error logs, and he said that he didn't understand what the logs were saying. Either way, a tech came out and could not fix the issue. I'm not sure if this is an ISP issue or a modem issue, but I'm hoping that someone here can help me narrow down the root cause and solution. Is there a way with my C7800 Nighthawk X4S AC3200 to configure it to be only a router where I can plug an ethernet cable into one of the internet ports and allow it to connect to another modem and then broadcast the Wi-Fi signal for the internet that comes from an alternate ISP? I want to use this as a router and connect it to a modem from fiber optics that has an Ethernet converter to then plug an Ethernet cable to connect the two devices, but need to know how to configure the Internet ports to be a receiving port and then broadcast the Internet signal wirelessly. Previously, I had Xfinity/Comcast as the ISP, will I also need to change the internal settings to change?Nat Type Restricted PS4
I just got spectrum Internet and decided to get the c7000 so I can directly plug in my PS4 and still have Wifi for other devices. When I connect via wifi I get a nat type 2. When I try to connect directly through LAN i get Nat type 3. I also opened up all ports through DMZ and also tried port forwarding as well and no luck. I just wanted to get a device to have the best direct connection and have no Nat type restrictions. Please advise I feel like i just wasted $200+ dollars.C7000 Initial Channel Locking
I got a c7000 from someone that had upgraded to something newer, as far as I know it had been working. When trying to set it up with Comcast, they said they could see it, the self activate seems to work, when they sent reset codes to it, it lost downstream and upstream and attempted to re-aquire. However I never get an active connection, and they never see it as connected. When I go to the cable connection page, it says "Failure Your modem is offline. Please check the RF connection." Then, "Click Here to go to setting...". That link takes me to a very interesting page, showing 24 downstream and eight upstream channels, with only the first of each locked in. Even more interestingly, when the device is restarted it always starts at channel ID 31 at 687000000 Hz, power - 2.1 dBmV, SNR 40.9, which are all good values, but if I refresh the page every few minutes, the downstream channel that is locked in moves down one channel and by 6000000 Hz. Upstream does not appear to change, although I believe it has been different between different restarts. Also near the top of the page there is a startup procedure list: Aquire downstream channel, it reflects the current one locked in as described above; connectivity state, in progress params transfer complete; boot state, in progress unknown; security, disabled; ip provisioning mode, in progress unknown. I have the C7000 Comcast cable modem router and have the genie app installed on my mac and iphone 6plus. I can set the global parental control for any user through opendns but I am not able to set configure device specific web content filtering from the network map in the genie app. The app shows the device is configured to high to block video sharing but I'm still able to get to youtube and espn. Anyone solve this?
