We just posted a short animated animation on the NETGEAR Youtube channel about Circle with Disney Smart Parental Controls. We'd love to see what you think. Visit the Circle page to see if your Nighthawk or Orbi router is compatible. Or just download the Circle app and we'll automatically detect if your NETGEAR router supports circle.16KViews0likes1CommentR7000 - Disney Circle - Internet speeds through router slowdown
Creating a new thread to focus on this one issue. I don't believe this is a general slow wifi/slow internet issue, but is clearly Circle related. All tests done on wired connection via my Netgear R7000. I have a cable internet plan advertised as 150/15. This was all done on firmware 1.0.9.14, and I did a factory reset and setup my options yesterday fresh. I have never enabled QoS or Web Traffic. I do have IPv6 configured and it works. Circle was enabled now for 24 hours. Speed slowly sinks down to 37Mbps. I see this speedtest: Turn off Circle via webpage on router and hit apply. This saves quickly, no reboot of router. Now I see full speed, and see how solid the download speed is? I turn Circle back on, hit apply and I get this speed test. All tests run inside 2 minutes: Turn Circle back off, and retest. Going to leave it off for 24 hours now to test: Looking for any support from Netgear if this is expected, and if it is fixable. Willing to help test if needed, as Cirlce seems like a great feature.20KViews2likes43CommentsCircle loses Premium
Hello! I have the Circle setup, and it seems to have lost the premium features. When I’m in the Circle app, and I restore iTunes purchase it says it can find the subscription but when I look in iTunes subscriptions it says it’s active and will renew December 1. Thoughts?Solved5.7KViews0likes8CommentsReduced bandwidth with Disney Circle
I tried enabling Circle with Disney. I have seen a 30-35% drop in bandwidth when in use. If I switch back to using OpenDNS performance reverts to normal levels. Anyone else noticed this? I am running the latest firmware. More details: I have a 200 Mbps connection and using http://www.dslreports.com/speedtest I can see that I am getting what I pay for when OpenDNS is enabled. When I switch to using Circle, bandwidth during the speedtest drops to 130-140 Mbps.8.3KViews1like7CommentsCircle with Disney goes offline every day
The problem I have is that I almost every day have to pair with a new circle (login to my router and enable circle), because Circle went offline. After login succesfully to my router circle is online again. But I can't manage circle from my iPhone because Circle askes for a passcode and when I ask to send me the passcode Circle does so but I don't receive it on my iPhone (and I am sure -checked twice on earlier occasions - that the correct phone number is used in my Circle account (starting with 0031 (The Netherlands)). I have an active subscription to Circle with Disney. I have contacted Circle support and they tried to help me but didn't succeed in the end. There last reaction was: "I took a look into this for you since you should not be having to setup Circle everyday, but was not able to find a solution for this. Here at Circle Support we focus our efforts on supporting and troubleshooting the Circle device itself. Although we would certainly like to help, and can offer basic troubleshooting steps for wireless routers, we want to be sure that changes made to your settings do not prevent you from utilizing your services the way you intended them to. For this reason, NETGEAR has a team ready to support NETGEAR routers with the Circle software integration."4.2KViews0likes3CommentsCan't get Orbi to work with Circle
I have Android 8.1.0 and I can't get Orbi to work with Circle. I open Circle app and click "Get Started". It says make sure you are connected to your router, which I am. So I click Next. Then it says that your firmware is out of date (which it is not!!!!). So it asks if I would like to update the firmware and gives to choices to the question: Yes Please or No Thanks. If I choose no thanks, it stops the whole thing as if I did not want circle at all. If I choose "Yes Please", it gives me a login prompt for my router credentials, which I put in. Then it says "Updating Firmware .... take a break this will take a few minutes". After a long time, it then says: "Reconnect to your router .. Return to the Wi-Fi settins on this Android device and connect back to <myssid>. When you return here, we'll enable circle on your router. " But I am already on the orbi's ssid. So then I click Next. Then it says "Enabling Circle .... This will just take a moment. Then it says the same thing as before "Reconnect to your router .. Return to the Wi-Fi settins on this Android device and connect back to <myssid>. When you return here, we'll enable circle on your router. " The "Next" button replaced with a non-clickable button that says "Logging In ..." It stays there the rest of the time. What is wrong?Converting from Circle box to Circle on Orbi
I’ve been using a Circle Disney box connected to my Orbi router before it became avalaible as part of a recent software upgrade. My question is how do I switch my Circle box over to the Orbi directly? Is it as simple as disconnecting the Circle box and enabling the Circle feature on Orbi? The Circle box has battery backup so I’m concerned about having two instances of Circle running. Will the Circle app automatically recognize the new switch over to the Orbi setup?Disney Circle on Orbi RBK50
Initially excited to see circle integration, figured that we can finaly do something that every other modern router has built in. Time limits on browsing for certain devices and some go beyond that feature set. Since if you buy the circle hardware from best buy for $99 you get the following with no subscription fee; Circle pairs wirelessly with your home Wi-Fi and allows you to manage every device on your network. Using the Circle app, families can create unique profiles for each family member. From here, kids will have a connected experience that is designed just for them. Time Limits, BedTime, Filter, Rewards, Pause, OffTime, Usage (note - these are not premium features) However, with netgear circle you only get filtering, pause and history (log) - the rest are premium features you can purchase additional functionallity for a subcription fee. And this subscription is only for wifi, if you want offline then you pay another subscription fee for that. So with disney Circle on netgear you get literally nothing that netgear already had with their genie app and opendns, and even less than that was capable of. I think this is a big fail here Netgear. please stop using this as a sales platform and give me the same features that are built into other routers. The addition is only a marketting button for disney circle premium. Please correct me if I got this wrong.6KViews3likes3CommentsOrbi RBK22 - Circle by Disney is not working - Firmware out of date message
I just purchased the Orbi RBK22 for my home with the purpose of setting up Circle by Disney for my kids. Unfortunately, the Circle by Disney feature does not work. I setup the hardware and downloaded the Orbi, Genie, and Circle apps. When I launch the Circle app it detects that my Orbi is capable of running Circle on it. When I go through the steps to enable Circle, it finds that my router is not running the latest version and asks if it is ok to update it. (Ironically, I looked at the website and it is already running the latest version available at V2.0.0.64 for both RBR20 and RBS20.) The Circle app tries to update then comes back with a "Something went wrong - Firmware does not support Circle. Please try upgrading again." message. I have tried updating a few times from the app and still no luck with the same message. Please help! Thanks!
