Hello, we have a problem with Netgear ReadyNas 2120 v2 by one of our customer. At first i tell you the configuration: System Version: 6.7.4 Serial Number: 3SJ95CEU002DF Application installed: SMB Plus They have two data shares. One of them is shared with AFP and the other one is shared with the SMB protocoll. For backup they have five external USB hard drives. The data are backuped incrementally daily on a different external hard disk. Only the administrator has got the permission to see und access the five backup drives. Problem: Sometimes when they change the backup drive, the permissions from the shares and backup drive are lost an mixed up. Then the backup drive is readable and accesable for every user and the two shares are invisible. I can fix the problem temporally, when i deactivate the afp and smb protocoll from the two shares and activate it again. But this is only a limited solution until the problem reappears. Can you tell me what to do? Thank´s! Matthias4.1KViews0likes5CommentsReadyNas not showing up
Hi I have a ReadyNas RN10400 connected to a TP-link archer c7 wireless modem router. I have two laptops. A Dell inspiron 32bit and a Dell Studio 64Bit both running Win 7 and connecting to the router via wireless. If I turn either one on it sees the NAS and The NAS shows up under network and in explorer. But if I turn both on depending on which one I turn on first is the one that sees the NAS and the other one doesn't. Have I got a setting wrong or something. Thank youSolved3.3KViews0likes3CommentsReadyNAS 2100 with dual ethernet keeps over-writing second gateway
I have a ReadyNAS 2100 with dual Ethernet ports. I want to have access to the NAS from two co-located but completely separate networks. When I put the credentials in for the second Ethernet port (whether via DHCP or static) the gateway keeps being over-written by the eth0 gateway address. I've even tried manually editing /etc/network/interfaces with vi but that has a comment in that it is auto-generated and will be over-written. Am I mis-understanding how these two Ethernet ports can be used and, if not, how do I set the properties? Thanks.2.9KViews0likes2CommentsNEED HELP - NAS not available
Hardware: Netgear ReadyNas 314, Firmware 6.2.2, Status green. I've switched off all energy saving options, so the NAS should be always ready. But during the day the nas is sometimes no longer available. Only pressing the power button with restartig the NAS system helps. Has anyone an idea what could solve the problem? Thanx for any comments and help! Bye Ralf15KViews0likes1CommentWHS V1 to ReadyNas
I am looking to setup NAS with 4 1TB drives from Windows Home Server version 1. I want to keep the data currently stored on spanned drives intact. Does anyone have suggestions on best method to copy data (and to what) so I can restore to NAS once drives are reformatted?12KViews0likes2CommentsReadyNAS 3200 alerts

Hi All, We have a ReadyNAS Pro Business Edition [X-RAID2] running firmware RAIDiator 4.2.22 A drive died in our system and the person who replaced the drive replaced the wrong one. After replacing the wrong one they quickly realized, took out that disk and put it in the correct spot. They did this without letting the drive properly sync before removing. Now ALL our data seems to be lost. When looking at the FrontView GUI it says "No Volume Exists". Can anyone help us recover our data and re-create this volume group? Please?? Since the last firmware upgrade my RN10200 needs to reindex DLNA if I shut it down. Previously I could turn it off and when I turned it back on my Samsung TV recognised it and all the files immediately, now I have to log into the ready nas manager and reinitiliaise Ready DLNA. Anyone experience this, and is there a work tound?14KViews0likes0CommentsReadyNAS 4200 drive replacement
I received a replacement drive for a bad disk on a 4200 and ended up swapping out the wrong drive. I have let the new disk build overnight and received my alert that it is complete. I was told by support that I can just simply use the drive I pulled by mistake and replace the bad drive with that now. BUT....... I have about 24 hours of data changes now, so I am a little cautious. Is it possible to use that drive I incorrectly pulled as it is now without formatting it? Looking for a second opinion to what I was told. Thanks!!!13KViews0likes1CommentReadyNAS 104 USB3 not working
Hey guys just got my ReadyNAS 104 and four brand spanking new Seagate SATA3 3TB 7200RPM Barracuda's yesterday. Everything works fine, it updated it's firmware and software and even though it took over 24hrs to resync (whatever that is) I now have it set with X-RAID2 and have around 7.8TB of usable space. My problem is that it doesn't seem to be able to connect to USB3 of which there are two ports. I've searched this forum and the net but can't find any reference to it. The main reason I chose this device was so I could transfer files to the NAS at USB3 speeds instead of Gigabit ethernet. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks15KViews0likes3Comments
