I sent in a ticket to support on this but still haven't come up with a solution so I thought maybe some forum users might have an idea... I've got the WNDR4300 with the latest firmware. I use an Arris cable modem (I have that set to bridged so it won't double up on the NAT). My internet speed is 200mbps and I get that on my desktop PC which is wire into the router. On WiFi, though, even when I'm right in front of the router, I can't get any speeds faster than a max of 35mbps, which seems really low. I've tested with an iphone 5, a laptop and a Kindle Fire HD and they all get about that speed (using the Ookla speed test). I have tried the following: Nothing has caused the wifi to be any faster than 20-35mbps. Any other ideas out there as to what to try? Is there a setting I'm missing? Again, the internet speed coming through the router to my desktop is 200mbps it's just the WiFi that's much slower. I know I can't expect to get a full 200 but 20-30 seems pretty low, especially when I'm testing right in front of the router. Any help would be greatly appreciated!Solved215KViews1like71CommentsWNCE2001 power led blinking green and no connection
Hello, I have a WNCE2001 wireless adapter that has worked for couple of months. Now, the power LED is blinking green instead of being solid... usb powered or AC plugged... I tried to access to it throught http://www.mywifiext.net but cannot connect. Factory reset didn't worked. I tried to push again the firmware using "tftp -i ip@ put firmware_file" following instructions found here : http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/18989/~/router-power-led-blinks-slowly-and-router-no-longer-works Anyone got an idea why it is doing that? what could I do to fix it ?Solved177KViews0likes34CommentsInternet through modem works, but not through router
Greetings, I do not have the disc that came with this router; I recently moved into a new apartment and got internet set up with Time warner. When my ethernet cable is pluged into the modem from my PC, I can get internet just fine; but when I connect to the router (the ethernet cables are connected to the right ports, the cable from the modem goes into the yellow port on the modem and the PC is plugged into one of the lan ports), windows says it needs to find drivers and cannot install the drivers because I do not have the disc. I tried using setup wizard by logging into my router at routerlogin.com (or net?) but it still cannot detect an internet connection. I also tried updating my firmware version but I think the problem is having drivers for the router on my computer. I have browsed netgear's site and could only find firmware updates, does anyone know where I can get drivers for my router?114KViews0likes5CommentsInternet light goes amber on R7000
The internet light will change from white to amber and I have no internet access through the router. This has happened 3 times. The 1st two times I had to do a hard reset though the hole in the back of the router, re-enter my settings and it worked fine for a few days. The last time that didn't work. I spoofed the computers MAC address like Netgear support said, still no go. Went through the genie trouble shooting steps and entered the MAC address from the router box manually and now it's working again? Something is not right with this router. I don't want to have to keep doing this. I have V1.0.3.60_1.1.27 firmware, but it did it with a earlier version. Any suggestions?Solved100KViews0likes30CommentsR7000 keeps dropping wifi connection
Hi, I have a Netgear R7000 router which I purchased 4 months ago. Recently it has been dropping the wifi connection intermittantly which seems to be getting worse, which is really annoying when trying to download large files! Plugging in a network cable (via PowerLine plugs) works solidly with no dropout. The WiFi will disconnect for a minute or two, during which time the internet, network devices and the router (192.168.1.1) are unreachable. This is happening on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks and is affecting two laptops (one running Win7 and one running Win10), as well as iOs, so I am sure it is a router issue and not a device issue. I have tried changing wifi channels to channels which are unused by other networks around here (confirmed using a WiFi scanner), but the problem remains. The firmware is version 1.0.7.2_1.1.93 and I am using readyshare with a USB 2 hard disk connected to the rear port. Has anyone had similar issues before? Thanks!Solved92KViews3likes28CommentsWARNING Vulnerability ID: NON-2015-0211 on my Netgear Router WNR2000v3 Please help
I scanned my MacBook with the avast antivirus and the network Scan a vulnerability which I was searching online to fix additional solution yet this is what I found on PCWorld website At first glance, sending requests to this SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) service requires an authenticated session. However, Adkins discovered that sending HTTP requests with a blank form and a “SOAPAction” header is enough to extract sensitive information from a vulnerable device. The information that can be extracted includes the administrator password; the name and access keys for the wireless networks configured on the device, and details about the device including its model, serial number and firmware version. Adkins confirmed that Netgear WNDR3700v4, WNDR3700v4, WNR2200 and WNR2500 devices are vulnerable. However, because of the flaw’s location, other devices, including WNDR3800, WNDRMAC, WPN824N and WNDR4700, might also be affected, he said. This was posted on the 16 February 2015 and today is October 22 2015 and I was just wondering if this was going to be fixed or not because I search everywhere no one has A answer to fix This I need to know please I don't want my information to be on the Hacker world. i like my netgear router but i am afraid to use it now I need to know if I need to change router Brands Thanks By the way this is the link of 1 of the few posts that talks about this vulnerability NG WNR2000v3 Vulnerability NON-2015-0211SolvedHow to get access to 192.168.1.1?

Hello, I want to change the MAC address for my Netgear Nighthawk router. I do not see any option for this in the router's configuration menu. I know that this is possible with other Netgear routers. Would anyone please tell me how to do this? Thank you.Solved74KViews0likes14CommentsFrequency start Value
Hello, I have the CM1000 Firmware V2.01.15 cable modem and so far its been great. I am curious as to why channel 32 is getting 30,000+ uncorrectables and around 4-5000 correctables. I changed the Frequency start Value from 975000000 to 807000000 and it seemed to have slowed down the errors on channel 32. So I tried another one 819000000 and I am seeing other errors in other channels. Now, changing back to 807000000 it all goes back to being in just channel 32. So I called both Cox and Netgear and it was like I was talking to a wall. Cox was saying to call Netgear and Netgear told me to buy another modem mine does not work with Cox which clearly is false information. Question is how does the Frequency start Value get set and if it should be changed what Frequency should I be on? I have Cox Cable Ultimate package w/300MBPS+Boost I usually get 360-380MBPS and 30-40 on the upload. Also using the Netgear R9000 router. Fast.com and Speedtest starts off at 500MBPS but drops down to 300s. I have the cable running from the cox box outside into my bedroom with no splitters, etc. Its barely a year old was new when we moved in and only have internet service. Maybe I should just let it be since I am online with no issues and fast service but my OCD will not let me. Why can't all channels be 0 on both sides? Any help or info to help me better understand is greatly appreciated! Thanks! Added some pictures so you can get an idea but since I did another reboot on modem it all went back to 0 and a few errors are on channel 32.Solved70KViews0likes4CommentsWhat is the highest speed that the Orbi's can handle?
Good Day All! I have the Orbi Mesh Router. The Orbi AC2200 and I have the main router in the living room and a Satelite down in the basement. I have Verizon Fios package that's supposed to give me 1GBPS speeds and I'm not getting anywhere close to those numbers when I run Speedtest.net after I requested the change. I change from the 100/100MBPS up/down and I was getting good numbers, I was getting anywhere from 150mbps to 180mbps with the same setup. After I uploaded to the 1GBPS plan for $59.99 After I upgraded my plan which was yesterday the best numbers I could get were in the screenshot above. I don't know if the Orbi Router's can handles the speeds or if there was something limiting the routers to be able to get faster speeds. I have 2 different routers. One that was provided by Verizon Fios which was no where close to the numbers that the Orbi was getting so I purchased the Orbi setup and ever since I had the 100mbps plan I was consistantly getting over 100mbps up and down. My question is, is there something restricting the Orbi Routers from achieving a higher speed? Are the Orbi Router's capable of handling 1000MBPS upload/download speeds? Will I ever get those speeds or what kind of router do I need to get to be able to get those numbers? I like the mesh setup but ultimately I want to get the best service possible. Any advise will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance for any input.
