It would be immensely helpful to be able to add/edit names of client devices. It would be heck of a lot easy to figure out what each device is... Should be whatever system gets by default and then allowing user to edit, so I can name something like "Printer by Coffee machine"4.7KViews25likes8CommentsBR500/BR200 DHCP Options
Hello, the DHCP server is a bit "basic". Would it be possible to integrate some Options in the BR500 router and be able to manage them in the Insight portal. This would be a great advantage to maintain small sites with SIP phones. Option 2 (Time Zone Offset) Option 4 (Time Server) Option 60 (vendor ID) Option 66 (TFTP or HTTP server in stringvalue) Option 114 (URL) Option 120 (P-CSCF address) Thank You, Edouard1.1KViews5likes0CommentsDo you plan to write Wifi Analytics for IOS Iphone Ipad ?.
Hi, Do you plan to write Wifi Analytics for IOS Iphone Ipad ? Ipad is the easiest tool to test wifi at the customer site, we frequently have to test wifi for the customer it will really help to have a good tool developed for Ipad, I will pay for it if it's a good tool. I have two requests, 1) Being the most important and 2) being less important. 1) Per attached device real-time bandwidth monitor. Consider the scenario that a connect device is utilising too much bandwidth and slowing other users. You can’t easily identify the culprit at present. 2) Historical bandwidth and traffic stats, per attached device. Allowing you to identify large upload and downloads, etc., and View usage patterns. Thanks for the consideration.1.6KViews4likes1CommentInsight Clients module - add more wireless fields to help investigations
In the client section of the Insight App, it would be useful to see additional information against each device, for instance, which channel frequency are they using 2.4 to 5Ghz, what channel are they using, what 802.11xx mode are they using, what WPA mode did they authenticate with, the RSSI signal strength, are they using a private MAC address (on a modern phone) - adding fields (and others) such as these into the Client's page would help with diagnosing connection problems. Also would be good to be able to click on a client in the browser and see its history, so when it connect, disconnect, change AP if roamed, connect again etc, so we can see a history of the wireless client with relevant fields that will allow us to diagnose connectivity problems.1.4KViews3likes2CommentsBR500 Mobile VPN
I would like to see a way to install the VPN client on a mobile phone (iPhone). There is currently no functionality for this, which is very surprising. The install for windows and Mac are super easy and helpful, but the lack of support for iPhone makes this device not as great as it could be. Please consider adding a way to use the VPN on mobile devices.3.6KViews3likes2CommentsNeed a new INsight business router faster than 1GB (min 10) with fiber ports and all the VPN option
Need a replacement for the BR200 and BR500 and quickly! one location is maxed out on 1gb fiber and would like to go faster and have the site to site function actually work as orginaly advertised for the BR500. Also need the LAN ports to be be fiber1.6KViews2likes1CommentMultiple Admin Accounts
NETGEAR Insight's tierd admin system leaves alot to be desired. Primary issue is that a Manager doesn't have enough rights to do their roll and we are only allowed 1 single admin account. The ideal solution would be to have a more granular admin system where we can create our own rolls and select which rights each roll has, (i.e. Billing User, Intern (Read Only), Sales, Help Desk, etc) The alternative and easier to implement solution would be to simply allow us to have multipule admin accounts so that we no longer need a shared account.1.9KViews2likes1Commentwhy is the IDEA STATUSES 0 against Engineering?
Is Engineering actually reviewing and making decisions on these forums; if so, why is so much blank in the other status? There is nothing more dispiriting than being invited to comment, then taking the time to do it, then it appearing to go into a black hole with nothing by radio silence. The best products succeed by remaining relevant to solving customers problems, obviously, this has to be done not in a bespoke way but a generic way, and the best way to do that is to listen and engage. The more problems your products solve, the better word of mouth which hopefully captures new customers form existing ones, the better the brand image appears, the happy the customer, the greater success - its a win-win for all. Forums which appear to engage but fail to list and explain create tastes, negative feelings and bad brands. If this truly is a place to engage with product manage on issues, ideas and new features with Product Management at Netgear, I would expect some moderate, sensible engagement with the very people that determine what will go in and what won't. This is how "challenger" banks became so disruptive, by listening, doing things differently, taking votes from customers on roadmap items, and continuing to listen....and what a success story that has been! Product management can be hard, but existing customers are an endless source of new ideas, of creative ways that can be competitive, and differentiating, and should be listened to. Have a voting system if there are enough people to help - but above all a product which remains relevant really continues to sell the brand for ever. please engage on here.646Views2likes0Comments
