26 TopicsTemperature monitoring and control on Smart/Plus switches
I own an XS724EM 24-port 10G switch. It runs warm to the touch, and the default fan profile seems to err on the side of low noise rather than cooling. Tech support says that the switch is designed to spin down fans entirely unless a certain temperature threshold is reached. Personally, I would prefer to see more aggressive cooling, even if meant slightly more fan noise. So my feature request is twofold: Basic temperature monitoring (ambient, internal) in the admin GUI. All I want is a simple readout of how warm the switch currently thinks it is. Basic manual fan control in the admin GUI. I'm envisioning something like the "Cool/Balanced/Quiet" drop-down menu (see image) found on ReadyNAS units. I know the managed switches have functionality along these lines. To me, this basic temperature monitoring and control seems like it should definitely be included on Smart/Plus switches too.2.4KViews5likes2CommentsEmail notification of switch port state change
Is it possible to add an email notification for a switch port state change on Netgear cloud managed switches with insight please? Looks like Cisco Meraki can do this and it would be great to know if someone is connecting or disconnecting devices to the switch or if a LAN host has gone offline. Many thanks in advance Joe943Views4likes0CommentsAdd SNMP support on GC510P(P)
Hi, Please add SNMP support on the GC510PP, to monitor this device. Smaller devices do have SNMP support, but this more expensive model does not have SNMP support. I think SNMP support for managed switches is a MUST have, since they are used in "enterprice". Many NTGR business products still have SSL 2.0 and 3.0 and TLS 1.0 as options - nowadays these are obsolete and should be removed, TLS 1.2 is in the field for more then 10 years, so there should be no more prehistorical Web browser still requiring anything different.2.4KViews4likes0CommentsNeed a new INsight business router faster than 1GB (min 10) with fiber ports and all the VPN option

Option to Reorder the FireWall Trafic Rules , This is must . ( if you have 50 rules and you want enter something to rule 10 , you have to remove all the rules and add it again , this is very painfull ) Many Thanks.1.6KViews2likes2Comments2048 bit CSR and Self-Signed Certificate Capability for Business Products (Like all switches)
We're missing the ability to generate CSRs with 2048 bit on the Netgear Business products (like the Smart Manged Plus, Smart Managed Pro, Managed Switches, coming-up Routers like the BR500, and solo the ability to generate self-signed certificates accordingly.2.3KViews2likes0CommentsHow to escalate support case?
I have a support case dealing with my new GS752TPP switches disconnecting from the Insight Cloud. Once they disconnect, they stay disconnected and I can't ping them, access the GUI, etc. The case has been open for about a month with no resolution. The support agent(s) keep asking for the logs from the disconnected switches but I can't get to them (since the switch is showing disconnected and can't be accessed by IP). I would like to escalate the case to the next level. How do I need to do that?2.3KViews1like4CommentsInsight Connected Wired Devices missing; take off LLDP necessity
Please take off the restriction that Insighht will only show Ethernet wired clients that are LLDP enabled. There should be a way to find the mac address of a device and other relevant information like it's assigned IP address, and which Switch it may be connected to. There's so much more information given on the CLIENTS tab for wireless connections, but on the Wired connection unless the device support LLDP then its totally missing. I think this is pretty poor to help in investigations into what is happening for clients that plug in physically using Ethernet.1.6KViews1like3Comments
