Can you use multiple wifi extenders? Hello there, I just purchased a Wi-Fi extender 7000 and it works great downstairs but the signal is weak upstairs. My question is if I bought another wifi extender the same one EX7000 can i use both of them at the same time or will having the same network extension make it conflict? Thank you in advance. Editors Note: Solved: Yes you can use 2 extenders at the same time, with some caveats - read on for more details. You may also consider a WiFi 6 Range Extender or a WiFi Mesh System such as Orbi for stronger signals and more WiFi range and flexibility.Solved712KViews2likes34CommentsWindows 10 (A6100 A6200 A6210) Installation Heads Up
As a heads up, DO NOT install Netgear's driver package for your A6xxx device on Windows 10. It permanently removes Windows 10’s ability to access the WiFi Connections list. Instead, use the default driver that comes with Windows 10, of which will freeze when you try to connect to networks until you complete the installation of Intel’s new Chipset Drivers here: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/20775/Intel-Chipset-Device-Software-INF-Update-Utility- If that still doesn’t work for you, try the following: Go to Network List, select the network you are trying to connect to, hit “Connect”, you should see “enter password” box and also a message about using WPS to connect, then instead of entering the password go hit the WPS button on your router. Your adapter should connect and function completely now.Solved230KViews3likes277CommentsOpenVPN No server certificate verification method has been enabled.
Hi, I'm using a R7000 running V1.0.9.28_10.2.32. I just signed up with Charter Cable after returning from vacation and finding my AT&T DSL not working. I now have the potential of Internet that's 70X faster than what I had if I can only get it to work. I was about to put up my hands in surrender and then I found this forum. Hopefully someone can help me. Equipment: Charter Cable modem - Cisco DPC3216 NETGEAR Wireless Router - AC1750 R6400 Toshiba NB505 Netbook Dell Inspiron PC The Charter guy installed the cable and there was a signal to the modem. He connected the NETGEAR wireless router and turned on the Toshiba Netbook. The computer found the network and we logged in. The computer showed that we were connected to the network and the NETGEAR Genie came up. But there was no Internet connection. It produced the same result whether the computer was connected via Ethernet cable or wirelessly. The Internet works fine when connected directly to the Cisco modem. After repeated tries to get it going, the cable guy concluded that the new NETGEAR router must be defective. After the cable guy left, I tried numerous times, each time following the installation manual that came with the router. Each time produced the same result. I called a friend who is much more knowledgable about computers than I am and he reached the same conclusion - bad router. I went out and bought a new router (same NETGEAR model) and went through all of the installation steps as specified in the installation guide. I got the same result. I attached a NETGEAR dongle to my Dell PC. The dongle works perfectly, but I get the same result there. I could connect to the network, the NETGEAR Genie comes up on the screen, but there's no Internet access. All of the lights on the NETGEAR wireless router that should be lit are lit and are white. My little Toshiba netbook has traveled the world and had no trouble connecting to dozens of wireless networks in hotels and apartments, so I'm sure that it can't be a compatibility issue with the computer. I'm not particularly proficient with the nuts and bolts of computers, so I'm hoping there's an easy solution for my problem that I've overlooked. I'm very frustrated. Thanks in advance for your reponse! HELP!!!SolvedCombine 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands under a single SSID
Just installed a new R7800. I am surprised to discover that it creates separate WiFi networks, one in the 2.4GHz band, the other in the 5GHz band. My previous wireless access point combined both bands under one SSID, and automatically selected the optimum frequency depending on the connected device and the signal strength. There seems to be no way of combining the two bands this way on the R7800. Or am I missing something?Solved172KViews0likes10CommentsCan't access the Router Login page (again)
Background: I am a Microsoft and Cisco certified network engineer for many years and configured thousands of modems/routers/switches etc etc. Bought a new X6 R8000 router and did a factory reset before I tried to connect to it. I use a desktop PC cable connected with my home network with an internet router (Asus RT-AC56U running Tomato firmware, suposed to be replced by this R8000), cable connected the R8000 to my home network switch, got IP address 192.168.1.2 on my PC, in Firefox typed http://192.168.1.1 then pressed Enter, I can see the browser page changed to 192.168.1.1/start.htm then it redirected me to the Netgear.com page saying " You are not connected to your Router’s WiFi network. To access routerlogin.com, your device must be connected to your Router’s WiFi network. Check your current connection and try again." What the hell? Why I can only use WiFi to config it but can't do it on Ethernet connection? So I have to plug in a USB wifi dongle and disconnect my Ethernet cable, the wifi dongle connected to the R8000 with IP address 192.168.1.3. Tried in Firefox http://192.168.1.1 and it gave me the same error message as above. Tried www.routerlogin.net (and .com) the same. For god's sake I am on the bloody WiFi network. What the hell? I never encountered/heard a problem like this. It just won't allow me to connect to the router configuratoin page. Googled the internet and searched this forum but all your solutions did not work. Don't know the firmware version or anything because I can't login to the router. I can ping 192.168.1.1. That's all. All lights flashing on the router and looks normal. Please help. Thanks.Solved129KViews1like23CommentsWAN OR LAN Port for Access Point
Question about using the Nighthawk R8700 as an AP. The documents say connect a ethernet cable from the LAN on the primary router to either the WAN OR LAN on the netgear, but all the photos show it plugged into the WAN port. Does it actually matter? I'm guessing if I plug it into the WAN Port it would give me all 5 LAN ports to use also? Also any idea why I can't access the routerlogin.net page in AP mode? It seems the only way I can is to type in the IP address which since it gets randomly assigned, the only way I was able to find it was going into the primary router and checking. I did end up changing it to a static IP address sl kt was easy to remember, but not sure why the login URL isn't working.Solved128KViews0likes11CommentsInternet through modem works, but not through router
Greetings, I do not have the disc that came with this router; I recently moved into a new apartment and got internet set up with Time warner. When my ethernet cable is pluged into the modem from my PC, I can get internet just fine; but when I connect to the router (the ethernet cables are connected to the right ports, the cable from the modem goes into the yellow port on the modem and the PC is plugged into one of the lan ports), windows says it needs to find drivers and cannot install the drivers because I do not have the disc. I tried using setup wizard by logging into my router at routerlogin.com (or net?) but it still cannot detect an internet connection. I also tried updating my firmware version but I think the problem is having drivers for the router on my computer. I have browsed netgear's site and could only find firmware updates, does anyone know where I can get drivers for my router?114KViews0likes5CommentsSetting up Port Authentication w/ RADIUS on a S3300, seeing timeout erros
