Hey everyone. I have a quick question that i cant seem to find a clear answer for. Im new to this. I have a nighthawk m1 and im using it as my main source of internet at my home. If I were to attach antennas to it would that boost my LTE speeds or boost the wifi signal the device creates? Not gonna be an issue if my deprioritization kills my speeds but I have yet to be able to test that. Hope it does not. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.Nighthawk LTE hotspot + external antennas
I am in the United States. I purchased the Nighthawk LTE hotspot directly from AT&T. I have several technical questions about the two external antenna ports on this hotspot. 1) Do the external antenna ports support MIMO? In other words does adding a second antenna significantly improve download/upload speeds when using AT&T LTE enabled cell towers? 2) What is the impedance (ohms) of the external antenna ports? 50 ohm? 75 ohm? other? 3) What is the maximum power output by EACH external antenna port in watts? 4) This hotspot has 4 internal antennas (4x4 MIMO and 4x carrier aggregation). What happens to the 4 internal antennas when the first external antenna is connected? when the second external antenna is connected? are the internal antennas disabled? is hotspot MIMO disabled entirely? if the external antennas ports support MIMO, does that mean when two external antennas are connected the hotspot operates in 2x2 MIMO mode?Nighthawk M1 External Antennas AT&T
Howdy folks, I just got a M1 on AT&T and wondering about external antennas for this unit. I am having issues because the specs indicate there is a 4x4 MINO internal antenna, but there are only two TS-9 antenna connectors. Questions: 1) If external antennas are used does this mean its operating in 2x2 MIMO? 2) If with external antennas it is in fact 2x2 MIMO operation, does this affect the performance of the device? 3) Please proide recomendations for outdoor/mobile mount MIMO omni antenna. Cheers, MikeHook up MR1100 to Wifi Router
I had an old Unite Pro that had to be hooked up through USB to a Cradlepoint which was then connected to my main rifi router. This new router has a lan port. When I plug it straight into my wifi router, I have internet access everywhere and all is well except that I can no longer access my wifi router (TPLINK ARCHER AC1200) via it's IP addresses for administration purposes. I attached a pic of my setup. I think it's just a matter of IP addresses. Can someone help me figure this out? Diagram of SetupNighthawk M1 Drops Internet Overnight....why?!
I'm on week 2 of trying to get this device to work as advertised or expected. I finally have it working as a pure modem.....kinda. I have a TP Link Router that is my main home router. The M1 has DHCP disabled, IP Passthrough enabled, and is hooked up to the TP Link via WAN port. When it's working, it works perfectly. The issue is that every morning, the M1 has dropped the internet connection. This device is my primary internet and MUST have a continuous internet. I am running it on a 2.0 Charger with the battery removed. The fix is to unplug the M1 and plug it back in. That's it. How do I keep this thing from losing the internet? When it loses it, my TP Link reports all zeros for the WAN connection. It's like something sleeps but I cannot find any setting for it. Please help me get this kink worked out. :smileymad:WiFi slow on MR1100
Why is the wifi slower on the US version of the Nighthawk M1 then it is in the Australian version on Telstra? People are getting real world speeds of 200+mbps over WIFI? Whereas I can only get max no more than 30mbps symmetrically over wifi while over gigabit ethernet I can get around 200mbps. Any good reason or is it ATT firmware that throttles us?Solved
