ReadyCLOUD
3 TopicsEnable to add a second ReadyCloud user on R7000
Hi There are at least two post (an older and a newer one) both of them request to have a second user beeing able to manage data on the external storage of R7000 through ReadyCloud. See here: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Nighthawk-WiFi-Routers/R7000-Add-additional-ReadyCloud-users-NO-ReadyNAS/m-p/1126093#M37434 and here: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Nighthawk-WiFi-Routers/Second-user-on-ReadyCloud-and-R7000/m-p/1273768#M55757 I did not find a comparable post in the ideas board, an now, here it is. I'd really appreciate if such a feature was added to R7000. Regards Maguggi12KViews0likes1CommentR7000/Add additional ReadyCloud users-NO ReadyNAS
Since I bought this device under the impression I could setup a home Cloud storage solution, I am very dissapointed to learn (after days of HORRIBLE technical issues with your servers/databases and inability to login/configure properly) - that I can only associate a single NetGear account to the shares at all! The idea here is that my wife/children/myself could easily backup our phone photos or documents from our individual devices (phones/tablets/laptops) and track/manage at the account level (i.e. we each have our own account). What I am finding instead is a HUGE security flaw, as it requires using a single-account across multiple devices (shared account is a HUGE SECURITY NO-NO!) and it doesn't give us the ability to track usage at the individual level. Just based on my experience with the Nighthawk product and now the ReadyCloud product, I have to say that the idea of "upgrading" to a ReadyNAS isn't very popular. If this restriction was put in place to nerf the Nighthawk capabilties, it's really just backfiring. Instead of giving users the great experience at the entry-level and setting a foundation for future upgrades (to a ReadyNAS) you're just completing turning the users off instead! Please fix this ASAP. Otherwise you are really just pushing us away from using your hardware and buying actual cloud storage from Microsoft OneDrive.17KViews0likes1CommentReadyCLOUD functionality on D7000 Modem / Router
ReadyCLOUD is currently supported on the R7000 Router. The D7000 Modem / Router appears to be technically / functionally similiar to the R7000 Router. Is it possible for a future firmware upgrade to enable ReadyCLOUD on the D7000 Modem / Router? If not, what are the obstacles?18KViews0likes1Comment
