ReadyNAS 102

Hi, I have a Netgear ReadyNAS 102 with debian ARM. I am following these instructions to install rtorrent + rutorrent... http://blog.rebootr.nl/rtorrent-rutorrent-netgear-readynas-102/ The NAS has Firmware 6.2.5. I am logging in root using PuTTY from Win10. I have a drama when I get to Step seven: test rtorrent. I'm getting the following... /usr/bin/rtorrent: 1: /usr/bin/rtorrent: Syntax error: word unexpected (expecting ")") What's the syntax error mean? How can I resolve this? In any case, if I just run rtorrent using root@nas:/# rtorrent rotrrent launches, but I get... Using 'epoll' based polling Using 'epoll' based polling Using 'epoll' based polling Could not read resource file: ~/.rtorrent.rc What does 'epoll' based polling mean? If I drop the .rtorrent.rc file created from Step five to /root/rtorrent I don't get that resource file issue. But now when rtorrent launches, I still get the 'epoll' thing and also this... The SCGI socket is bound to a specific network device yet may still pose a security risk, consider using 'scgi_local' What does this mean? How do I resolve? I tried these steps once before, ignored issues, kept on going and it went completely pair shaped. Had to factory reset the NAS, stuffed that up and lost a lot of data Oh well, these things happen. Anyway, if I can over the original hurdle of the Syntax error, I may still have questions when I get further on. But... one step at a time. Cheers, daarskReadyNAS 102: Any issues with 3TB drives?
Hi all, I have a ReadyNAS 102 with two WD 1TB drives, but I'm getting close to full and want to upgrade to 3TB HDDs. I see a lot of discussions here about the 102 and 2TB drives, but not 3TB. Is there any problem with 3TB drives on the 102? Thanks DellSolvedAccess to the php.ini file

Hi. I've been using a ReadyNAS 102 for about 9 months now. I had a 1.5TB WD hard disk in bay 1 and a 1.0TB WD disk in bay 2. Everything was working great. I decided I would upgrade both disks to 3TB Western Digital HD-W30EFRX. Before purchaing them, I looked the drives up and they were on the ReadyNAS compatibility list. I'm using X-RAID (/RAID 1, I believe - redundant disks only). Here's a quote from the software user guide on adding disks: X-RAID accommodates the new disks automatically. You can replace existing disks with larger-capacity disks and X-RAID automatically accommodates the new disks. Based on the quote and reading a few related posts, I thought I could just: (a) remove either of the two existing disks; (b) add one new disk; (c) let the new disk sync the data; (d) remove the remaining 'old disk'; (e) replace it with the remaining new, 3TB disk, and then (f) let the new disk synce the data. Unfortunately, I've tried this with two different new hard drives on the compatibility list and it isn't working for me. Neither of the new hard drives is formatted. I remove one of the old disks, insert one of the new 3TB disks, and at that point the ReadyNAS becomes unreachable via its web admin page, RAIDar, or through the Windows network. I've waited several hours, and even after that much time the device does not become reachable. The ReadyNAS also is unable to gracefully shutdown using the power button. In short, the hardware appears to be frozen. I also tried the same process but started with a powered down state, and that didn't work either -- the power button just went into slow blink mode and the ReadyNAS was not reachable as above. When I remove all the old disks and put one of the new, unformatted 3TB disks in the drive and power-up, the new drive is recognized fine and the ReadyNAS is reachable. So, I know I can now backup all my data from the old disks to my computer, remove the old disks from the ReadyNAS and insert the new disks, and then restore the backup to the new disks. But I thought one of the key advantages of using X-RAID is you shouldn't have to do that. Before I go through the full backup / swap / restore process mentioned above, are there other solutions I should try to resolve the issue? Thanks for your help! I'm not sure if this is a configuration or an OS issue, but I noticed today that all default or unspecified HTTP traffic to my ReadyNAS 102 is going straight to /admin. (example, http://mydomain/ goes straight to the admin login page while http://mydomain/ShareName redirects correctly.) In the past, I could go to System>Settings>HTTP and choose a default folder/share to direct unspecified HTTP traffic to a specified share/folder. When I try to do this now, I only get "None Selected" as an option in the drop down menu. I've tried changing this in Edge/IE/Firefox/Chrome to make sure this wans't a browser issue. Screen shot of issue Any thoughts?4.1KViews0likes12CommentsReadyNAS 102 and BT Business Hub 5
Hi everyone I moved to BT Business on Monday. I connected my ReadyNAS 102 to it and I can access it ok on my mac via finder and explorer on my windows 10 PC. The problem I'm having is when I access over the net via readycloud.neatgear.com. The device is showing as offline. I disabled the firewall on the BT Business Hub 5 but it still showed as offline. I can log on as admin ok when I connect via IP address directly. Can any one tell me what I need to do? Many thanks in advance.Solved3.8KViews0likes1CommentReadynas 102 unit ReadyCloud once again not working. FW 6.5.1 SW: 1.13
First off this is not the first time this has happened. Back when I had support on this unit last year I had to backup my data and do a complete whipe and reset (hour of time as you know) not once, not twice, but three times. The reason? Level 3 tech support has told me "we just arent sure but a reset should clear it right up" .... wow. Device: Readynas 102 2-bay with 1TB Raid 1 config Readycloud: FAIL (desktop, app, web) Admin page via LAN: PASS Apps installed: none 100% factory Ok so for the last year or so, it has been working pretty solid. Every day I get to work and it works I am just impressed that I got another 24 hours out of this thing. That said, I did the latest firmware update and ever since it has had issues connecting. I rebooted (power) to the unit and now once again the desktop software shows it as offline. I logged in and noticed the FW update reset the network from static to DHCP. Well the ports on my router are set for that IP so I set it all back the way it was thinking that was the issue. Again reboobted the unit and it got the IP just as before, but now inside the Readynas Admin page the "cloud" tab says that ready cloud status is "Offline (RED X) Services Offiline" you click the little question mark and I just get a loading logo no information displayed. I was able to get into the device last week via the readycloud web ui, but obviously with it now offline that wont work. I can get into the admin settings page though of course. I have a pretty decent history working in all thing IT (work for LG here in South Korea) and so things like a router FW update were first to come to mind. I made sure I have the newest firmware there too ASUS AC router (AC66U) VPN to the router, and all other things like cctv and media sharing devices are working normally. Even on the LAN the readynas will not connect. I have turned off the service and turned back on, power down for 24 hours, remove the account reboot and login, all are to no resolve. Is my only option to backup everything again and do a complete whipe of the system? At this point the device is nearing 2 years old and I have never ever had so many issues with a NAS in my life. So many other options out there that co-workers are friends use and they all just laugh when I told them I got Netgear... I use to hold Netgear to very high standards but apparently that is slipping. 90 days of customer service all that spent on resets and well over 14 hours of my time trying to keep this thing running. Just frustrated at this point. I do not map drives out of fear of ransomewarre taking down everything. Hence I like the desktop app. I did use FTP on my phone, but I have not used that in a long time as I have OneDrive backup from my phone and then the the Readycloud app backup my OneDrive to the ReadyNAS102 (TheDonBot). I did try and set up FTP again but I can not get it to work. I can VPN to my router, but the ReadyNas does not seem to be available. I could just have a setting wrong though. I do not really want to go back and setup FTP again, I just want the desktop software to work. Really appreciate any idea or feedback. If I should just toss this thing in the recycle and buy something else please let me know, money is not really the issue here I just need to stop walking into meetings with things on a NAS that no longer works and then in a mad scramble to VPN to home, map drives, etc just to get the random stuff requested from guys at work.3.7KViews0likes8CommentsRN10200 backup button doesn't work
