Hello, Does anyone know where I can find the release notes for firmware version 12.0.17.9 For some reason there are KBs out there with other versions but this one. I recently found (on a completely off topic article) someone posted a URL that appears to be where the actual release notes were (https://kb.netgear.com/000065245/M4300-Firmware-Version-12-0-17-9?_ga=2.116205830.1824562860.1690820292-940811563.1690820292) but the link is broken. Not sure where else to look. Thanks,1.2KViews0likes4CommentsRN3220 Unable to delete share
I have an RN3220 (f/w 6.10.8) that has a share I'm trying to delete but the system keeps on saying delete failed due to snapshot deletion failure. Snapshots are disabled. There are no files / folders of any type visible in the share - No "hidden" or "system" files either. Can anyone offer any ideas on why the NAS won't let me remove this share ??? Subject (Include model number and brief summary) I bought the Plus Switch-GS105E V2 so I could "see" both PC's, but ... Q: How can I "see" what's on the (other) PC? Before the "SWITCH *": If I am on PC1, & plug in a USB HD, then I can "view" ALL the files on it {using File Explorer, eg,}, & then I can even run prgs. But I Can NOT "see" PC2 from PC1 What am I missing? Also, my son-in-law sez: that I shlda' NOT! bought the Plus, since the simpler one wlda just shown both.... My Equipment: Switch: GS105Ev2 — 5-Port Gigabit Ethernet Plus Switch / GS105E V2 PC1 {"Green"} runs Win10 Pro (etc.) PC2 {"NewEgg"} runs Win11 Pro J (OG Power User - think IBM 360 & Punch cards. But my network ["running"] experience is limited, EXCEPT! back in the 80's I ran PC Anywhere, etc, between 2 PCjr's etc etc. ) - PS: the "Network" icon only shows the NAMES, not the "stuff" (i.e., folders, if shown, are empty, & I have turned on "sharing" etc everytime it's requested ). I am NOT talking re: permit error msgs, but I am!! asking "How can I use File Explorer (etc.) ? " to "see" what's on all the drives {& PCs etc} that are plugged into the switch? & OF COURSE I have downloaded / installed / run configured all from the site: Firmware/Software Firmware Version 1.6.0.10 NETGEAR Switch Discovery Tool for Windows Version 1.2.103 ProSAFE Plus Configuration Utility v2.7.81.5KViews0likes3CommentsNetgear Smart Managed Switch GS310TP- UNifi VLAN Tagged/Untagged
I just bought the 310TP for powering Unifi WIFI as there is no injector available and never thought i would need POE switch but it looks to be intresting on capability of switch now i can control and plan the network. I wanted to setup a VLAN for media devices and IOT devices ( Smart bulb and Amazon echo & Smart AC) and Portal devices like Mobiles and tabs a seperate VLAN and NAS a seperate VLAN and Unifi AP being center for all wireless devices. Except my desktop & NAS rest all wireless exception is AP which get POE as source. Now this is what i wanted and need help to setup. VLAN-1 - PC / Laptop/ Tab to be mangement devices should have access to everything in the network VLAN-2- Unifi AP - This connects everything. VLAN-3- IOT wireless devices connecting to AP. VLAN-4 NAS VLAN-5 For all Mobiles, TV, Repeater & streaming devices including setop box. Now VLAN-1 & 2 will have access to anything. VLAN 4 should have have acces to VLAN 5. VLAN 3- needs to be isolated only have Internet access and no access to any VLAN other than VLAN 2 AP for connection. ( Little tricky not sure if this technically feasible) VLAN 4- should have internet access as well. On the other hand can i isolate few devices in VLAN 5 mobile/streamer to be isolated and have access to all but not seen by others on scaning. Just 2 devices . Also i am not sure where to find complete view of the smart managed switch video how to setup managed switch. Does this model is supported for the Insight or its not. What does the uplink SFP usecase.Routing one client device between VLans
Very new here so apologies first for my last post earlier today. Could not find it my last thread in order to include solution but I have solved my problem on upgrading firmware having read some other threads and guessed a bit and experimented a bit to get rid of earlier image file etc. Now up to date. My main question is how may I arrange that a particular device (a NAS on fixed IP on one subnet and vlan) may be accessed from another subnet on another vlan but otherwise be kept private. In other words I do not wish to open all traffice between the two vlans, only traffic to and from the NAS device.1KViews0likes1CommentBackup ReadyNas 214 to External Drive
I'd like to back up my ReadyNAS 214. The shares have both Windows and Mac files on them. I understand that things can go south quickly when formats mistmatch. So, if i buy a target back up drive, which format should i use? NTFS, MacOS, some other format? The idea is if I have catastrophic failure on the ReadyNas 214, I'd have a back up to the backup and I could restore from that. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.1KViews0likes2CommentsJoin NETGEAR Business at SpiceWorld 2019 Booth No. 1 #SpiceWorldATX
