Hello, I have recently had firmware V3.01.38 pushed to my gateway from COX in Henderson, NV. I no longer can view the Wireless Settings under the ADVANCED tab. Never experienced this with V3.01.36. I am wondering if COX disabled this page in Genie or it is a glitch with the newest firmware. The odd thing is, if I do a factory reset, the page loads fine still showing V3.01.38 until I reboot...then the page will not longer show. Everything else is just fine so again, I am assuming my ISP (COX) has disabled it. Why would they remove access to this? Also, is there anyway to revert back to V3.01.36 firmware or will COX just keep pushing it to my modem? Please advise as I am puzzled and frustrated. Thank you4.1KViews0likes12CommentsWAC730 Captive Portal - Facebook - Issues
WAC730, standalone, v3.8.3.0, two SSID in service, FB Login proof of concept for customer demonstration Created a new SSID, assigned the second captive portal NETGEAR-1 Configured the second captive portal NETGEAR-1 (why ever this profile name can't be renamed - Netgear does still not understand [my!] profile design concept you have stolen from another vendor), Captive Portal Mode (x) Enabled, Register with Facebook WiFi (x) Yes, Profile Name NETGEAR-1 [x] Admin enabled, Authentication mode: Facebook Wi-Fi, Facebook page: [set]. When accessing the SSID, the captive portal page does show up very unreliable - all current Windows 10/Android/iOS/macOS. When it does show up, we can check in to the Facebook site. And the access works kind of as expected. IF you have ever the chance to check-in on the FB site. [ISSUE!] When now attempting to manage the WAC730 over the LAN, the Captive Portal does jump in - why ever, always. Regardless if calling https://wac730-1.[whatever.dom.ain]/ or https://[WAC730-LAN-ADMIN-IP]/ (same with http), the FB WiFi Captiv Portal does jump in: ...now we're nice, and [Check in] at the site... ...we can click on [Continue browsing] as many times as we want, the browser does call the LAN IP (as originally requested), and the [Continue Browsing] page does come up again. The WAC730 Web UI is not accessible over the LAN at this state. Even if trying a new session, a different browser - we're really captured. But not by accessing the SSID ... by attempting to manage the WAC730 over the LAN! Obvious [BUG]. Firmware is current as of Support / WAC730- ProSAFE Business 3 x 3 Dual Band Wireless-AC Access Point v3.8.3.0. Proof of concept failed, looks like we won't get an order Netgear WLAN equipment for this customer RaghuHR. Bugware. Untested. Back to the skunkworks. Now I don't wonder why the Nighthawk router model(s) supporting FB WiFi are suffering from basic functionality issues as well.Solved5KViews0likes6CommentsNetwork Monitor not tracking wireless with 5ghz off
As it says in the title, the OS does not recognize any data flow with 5ghz disabled. I have no need of 5ghz so I keep it off but 2.4ghz is on and my mobile is connected to it. Also, the Device Manager shows my wireless as being offline on the Network Map. What gives? If I could suggest, a simple solution to this would be to seperate the wireless into the two wavelengths. Was already using firmware V1.0.2.50, says V1.0.2.52 is available, downloaded V1.0.2.52 img, hardwired update, and your V1.0.2.52 is bugged and thinks that it’s V1.0.2.50 still... Around in catch 22 circles the update procedure goes... Who knows what version I’m even on now, because both V1.0.2.50 and V1.0.2.52 come back as V1.0.2.50? This needs urgent attention, roll on V1.0.2.54 lol.Solved5.9KViews0likes10CommentsBUG: Cannot edit "Internet" VLAN settings (e.g. Priority, VLAN ID)
Router Firmware Version V2.0.0.74 Steps to reproduce: 1) Sign in to orbilogin.com (or whatever method) 2) Click the "Advanced" tab 3) Expand the "Advanced Setup" section in the left list, then scroll down within the list until you see "VLAN/Bridge Settings". Click "VLAN/Bridge Settings". 4) Click "Enable VLAN/Bridge group" and then "By VLAN tag group". 5) Highlight the existing/default "Internet" VLAN tag group and click "EDIT" 6) Change the VLAN ID (e.g. to 201, as I need to do for CenturyLink Fiber internet). 7) Click "APPLY" Expected results: VLAN tag group page is shown with the new settings specified above. Actual results: VLAN tag group page is shown with old settings; any changes are not respected/retained/saved. Using the exact steps above, the entire VLAN settings are disabled / not enabled. If you already have VLAN settings enabled, then the "Internet" group will simply remain in VLAN ID 10 -either way, it is uneditable. Looking for Netgear help here, as this seems to be a bug in their firmware or router settings. Also very interested if others can reproduce, or whether this is just my device.SolvedCan not create a static route to single IP (Orbi 2.0.0.74)
When adding a static route to a single IP it is not applied. I'm trying to block access to certain IP's by adding static routes and directing them to the local interface on the Orbi. I enter the IP, Subnet 255.255.255.255, Gateway 10.0.0.1 and Metric 2. I press apply but it does not. Does not show up in the list of static routes. (10.0.0.1 is the Orbi's internal IP) If I enter the same IP and a 24bit subnet (255.255.255.0). Press apply and it is applied and saved. Shows up in the list of static routes.Bad Embedded Web Server
Have multiple NETGEAR WiFi routers in office. Prefer to use the office DNS to access them for obvious reasons (e.g., 'PetersWifi' instead of trying to remember IPv4/6 internal addresses like '192.168.245.22', especially since DHCP occasionaly changes the addresses). Unfortunately, calling the embedded admin page on the R7800s by name produces '404' or a bad page (a single digit, usually '0'). The R7800s work if I use the net local IP (sends me to admin login popup). All the other routers (e.g., the R6300s) work as expected regardless of using name, IPv4, or IPv6. Updated to firmware V1.0.2.28, but still fails. 90 day support (these are new routers) requests have produced nothing but a run-around, disrespect, insulting answers ('The Interenet is not available in AP mode.') and refusal to take documentation of the problem. They posted the report to the support web app with the title 'Unable to access the genie page using routerlogin.net' -- so it appears that their '2nd level support expert' doesn't understand basic networking concepts. So i turn to the community for help... anyone? * * * two WIFI access points on this network. One is called “R6300v2” and the other is called “R7800”: log onto the R6300 using its name and a browser, like so: Which gets me to the web interface: on the Nighthawk, here’s what happens: But it WORKS when I just use the IPv4 address:Solved3.8KViews0likes6Comments[BUG] RAID Resync Progress Output in 6.8.0
In my quest to find half usable iSCSI performance on the 3220 (https://community.netgear.com/t5/ReadyNAS-in-Business/RN3220-RN4200-Crippling-iSCSI-Write-Performance/m-p/1289066), I upgraded to FW 6.8.0, blew away the array and rebuilt it - into a RAID 10 this time - and left it re-synching overnight. I came back this morning and this is what the re-sync operation was reporting: If you jump in and out of the tab, the % and timer are still ticking. So it looks like a bug. I assume the UI update algorithm was never correctly informed that the operation was complete and the counters continued ticking.2.8KViews0likes6CommentsBackup fails because there is a period (".") at the end of my filename.
Hi, I'm trying to setup a backup on my new ReadyNAS 212 (Firmware 6.7.5). Whenever I run the backup I receive an error : Cannot read file 'opti/makeinclude/shared.mk.' (error: No such file or directory)! Failed to copy file '/Vol_4TA/foo/opti/makeinclude/shared.mk.' (error: No such file or directory)! This seems like a bug. How can I report this so that NETGEAR can work on fixing it? In the mean time I guess I'll have to change the name of my file if I want it backed-up. :smileyfrustrated: ThanksSolved4.4KViews0likes12Comments
