40 Topics- AC1750 C6300 Blinking internet light - upload & download both work - xfinityI bought a new cable Modem Router to go with my new xfinity internet service and I can't get it to connect to the internet. All of the lights work with the exception of the internet light which flashes green. When I log into the router and go the the cable internet tab is just says connecting. When I click on that tab is says no internet connection check RF connection. I figured this must be an ISP problem so I called them and even though they can "see" the modem and talk with it they were not able to connect the internet. The error thet they keep getting has somthing to do with a security setting? (As is was explained to me the modem is not talking to their system correctly but who knows) After 4 different calls their final suggestion is to return the modem and get a new one. I just have a feeling that isn't the issue here. Has anyone else run into this problem before?Solved23KViews0likes7Comments
- C6300 and Windows 10 disconnects frequentlyNever had a problem with my Windows 7 installation. Since upgrading to Windows 10, the internet disconnects several times a day. Usually fixes itself when I run diagnostics, but must reboot from a cold shutdown sometimes. usually says "local area connection adapter has disconnected" and sometimes "disconnected from gateway, not available". Sometimes it says "local area connection adapter disabled". I can always fix it somehow, but very annoying to happen several times a day.Solved17KViews0likes9Comments
- Random issues with C6300Hi all, I've been looking through the forums for answers to these questions, but nothing seems really applicable to these problems, so I guess I'll start with a bit of backstory: Recently our internet service was boosted to new, higher speeds from our ISP. The end result was that our old modem no longer suited our needs if we wanted access to the new speeds. We decided to upgrade to get access to those speeds, and so purchased the C6300 to ensure compatibility (checked with the ISP first, it is a suitable router for the plan we are on). The installation went fine, except for my ISP having to send a tech out to finish the install, since the modem was not showing up as active on their end [turned out that, after repeating them 3 times, they had incorrectly entered the MAC and Serial Numbers], but while he was here he checked everything. There are no splitters in the house, we have a solid connection running to the house and everything was in perfect order by the time he left (he also came back about five minutes later to make sure everything was still in top shape, since the ISP had contacted him to say they noticed a small hiccup on our end, everything was still fine). Then, a couple of hours later, we started having a couple of issues: -Speeds on my hardwired PC are fantastic, they actually sit a bit above the new max speeds we were told (http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/4695796276), but when connecting through WiFi everything feels sluggish, and speeds rarely top 25Mbps down / 2Mbps up. I've checked the settings over and over, but everything seems to be set correctly. The C6300 is in the exact same place as the previous modem/router used to be, and we had zero issues there. Am I overlooking something simple? For instance, would changing to a different channel help? -We also seem to be suffering from random disconnects, but they aren't really disconnects, more like momentary lapses. Randomly while using computers or laptops on WiFi or, more often, towards the later hours at night when using an Xbox One we'll get random "attempting to connect to server" messages for any game that attempts to connect to any online service, or we'll randomly get bumped to "Limited" internet access on computers. The hardwired PC remains perfectly fine, but everything else on WiFi seems to lapse, and it's only a momentary thing, not long-term, but it will happen more than once. -I'm also seeing this message popping up a lot when I check the logs: [DoS attack] AIF: Dropped INPUT packet: PROTO:2 SPT: DPT: 1 Saturday, 26 Sep 2015 07:22:41 224.0.0.1 10.128.64.1 I know it's not a legitimate DoS attack, but it seems strange that it continues to pop up like this routinely in the logs. Is this something I need to be concerned about? Any help in sorting this out would be greatly appreciated! :)Solved9.7KViews0likes11Comments
- Unable to set to Internet time?Currently using firmware version : V2.01.18 on my C6300. There is no provision to let me set the time, and apparently whoever is setting the time is an hour off from my U.S. Eastern Standard Time. The actual time right now is 10.08am, yet my router thinks it is 9:08am. I have tried setting to 8.8.8.8, wit no difference. How about the next firmware update you allow the user to set the time, either syncing with my computer, or just plain allowing me to put a time/date in. I have tried support chat, and after about twenty minutes with one of your people, they finally realized that there is NO option for me to set the time or date in this router/modem. After my support chat with Netgear, I called Comcast/Xfinity as he suggested. The Netgear support person said that it was Xfinity's fault. Well, Xfinity said that it was my Netgear Router/Modem that is supposed to select the time time zone, and since Netgear doesn't allow me to set the time zone, Xfinity has no idea what time to send to the modem/router. Netgear may call it fingerp pointing, but it can be fixed, by putting the option in for the end user to either specify a time zone, or actually allowing the end user to enter a time/date. Very nice router/modem, but this is just plain stupid that I do not have control over the time/date on it. Will this be fixed in newer firmware for the C6300/AC1750 Cable Modem Router Docsis 3.0?8.3KViews0likes9Comments
- c6300 wifi randomly droppingI have a c6300 that has been pretty solid since installed in August. In the last two week it has developed an issue where the wifi radios appear to randomly turn off (the 2g and 5g lights on the front of the router are out) and none of the three SSIDs that I have configured are visable/available (of course). Any wired connection does not appear to be impacted by this so it doesn't appear to be a issue from the router out to the internet. The only 'fix' for this is to reboot the router (not ideal) -- is there a more permanent way to address this issue? I have tried moving the wifi channel to one that NetGenie indicates is "BEST" or "BETTER" but the issue will typically reoccur within an hour or two.6.2KViews0likes11Comments
- C6300 Cannot resolve host - Cannot access internet outside of bridge modeMy C6300 is just 4-5 months old and had been working great so far. I was on vacation over the long weekend and had the power to it turned off. I come back home and turn it on to no internet. Spectrum says it is my equipment. I verify that by turning it into bridge mode and connect my laptop via ethernet cable and can access the internet with no issues. I am now perplexed on next steps. It works fine in bridge mode. But cannot access anything with it off. I have reboot and reset the router multiple times. I have verified with Spectrum that I have the most recent firmware version. I can ping the DNS host that it automatically gets from the ISP just fine. Any thoughts or suggestions to help me on this?6.1KViews0likes13Comments
- c6300 Wifi Not WorkingJust had two power outages back to back. Upon 2nd recovery, the internet had stopped working. A quick plug pull and the modem came back up just fine, but now I have intermittent connectivity. Speedtests show DL speeds up to 75 Mbps and UL speeds towards 7 Mbps but the internet kicks out every minute or so. More importantly though, the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wireless are no longer working. Both lights are unlit and hitting the WiFi and WPS buttons do absolutely nothing. So far I've tried resetting with the actual reset button on the back, holding it for 60 seconds as recommended by chat support, unplugging everything for awhile then reinstalling, disabling the network adapter (PC ethernet) and re-enabling it and then also tried updates to the network adapter itself but there are none. Everything was working fine just up until the two power outages so now I'm wondering if this one is just completely shot. If so, I'd rather go back to Linksys/Cisco for an all in one cable modem/router option as this NetGear was the only one that was available at the time when I went to upgrade from an Arris Surfboard 6141.5.9KViews0likes3Comments
- C6300 LAN Setup Address Reservation bugNetgear Genie on my C6300 firmware V1.02.19 has a bug in the address reservation logic. The initial Lan Setup screen shows the reserved devices. In some instance when you press Add (to reserve a new address) you get the status bar saying Updating Settings and then an error message saying something like "server received no data" (like it expected to add an address when nothing was selected). When this occurs, you can instead select any one of the devices listed (even though it has nothing to do with the new device to be added) and press Add, and the subsequent screen presents you with a list of all known devices and you can successfully add a device from this screen. Another probably related bug is that it tries to update settings without anything to do (probably because nothing was selected from the initial list). Finally figured out I could select any one of the devices on the initial screen to get past this, but not after an aggravating and useless phone call to your support line.5.6KViews0likes6Comments
- C6300 NAT SettingsHello All, My son is trying to use his XBOX App on his WIndows 10 Laptop and when he tries to join a party and chat with his brothers he gets an error saying his network setting won't allow this. My thought was I probably need to open the NAT settings. However, when I went to WAN setup there isn't any NAT filtering option to change. I think it's supposed to be by the "Disable SIP ALG" setting but I see nothing there. Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated. Pakled5.2KViews0likes1Comment
- Unable to Log in Router c6300Just bought a c6300 modem/router and it's connected wonderfully. However, I am unable to log into the router itself to verify or even provide it updates. routerlogin.net or routerlogin.com does not pull up. I get the 'This site cannot be reached.' message. I've even tried using NETGEAR Genie to log into the router and I still can't get in. My version of NETGEAR Genie is Version 2.4.26. When I try logging into my router using the Genie the following message shows up: "NETGEAR router is not found or is not supported. Also make sure the device is not connected to the guest network of the router, and no IPv6 is enabled." According to the list of supporting routers (http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/24686?cid=wmt_netgear_organic) the c6300 is supported. Not sure where to go from here...Solved4.8KViews0likes4Comments
