factory reset
10 TopicsRNDU2000 cant factory reset
Hi, I recently bought a second hand READYNAS RNDU2000 FM:V4.2.19. The previous owner told me it had a corrupt root error which could be solved with a factory reset. I have placed a recently formatted (NTFS) 1TB drive in to the bay, switch it on and confirmed there was a corrupt root error. I checked the forum and followed the suggestions for a factory reset. The unit doesnt seem to respond to the factory reset, no flashing lights etc. Now the NAS isnt even getting picked up by READYNAS RAIDar. Can anyone please shine some light on what has happen and a possible solution? Thanks in advance, MichaelRN104 Stuck In Boot Menu Mode/Normal after firmware upgrade 6.6.1
Last time I logged into my RN104, it offered me a FW upgrade to 6.8.0. I accepted. Something went horribly wrong and my NAS became unusable - completely. My data's fine due to having off-site backups. But, the RN104 is toasted - sort of. When powered on, it wants to (only) boot USB. So I prepared a USB recovery flash drive. It went through the process and powered off the NAS. I powered back on and nothing. It wants to only boot USB. Trying multiple flash drives didn't help. But, in one of those attempts, I neglected to copy the <firmware>.img file to the USB drive and the unit dropped into tech support mode (LCD says "DEBUG $PORT $IP Recovery"). I can use RAIDar to find the unit. It says: Model: None Name: readynasos Serial: NONE000200000 Status: Tech Support Mode Firmware: 6.2.4 IP Address: 198.162.29.190 (28:C6:8E:35:20:6A) Debug code: TELNET Mode I can login via telnet as root, with pw infr8ntdebug. From that point, is it possible for me to reset this whole thing to Factory Defaults or do an OS Reinstall? I have a disk drive I can use in it for this exercise (I'll upgrade to larger, real drives if it works). How would I go about that? Thanks!5.5KViews1like33CommentsGSM7324 Factory Reset
I have obtained a used GSM7324 for some lab work and need to reset to factory default. I have followed some guides power down ... reset button for 10secs.....power on power down ... reset button for 10secs.....keep pressed power on hold for a further 20 secs. Neither has worked. Any advice please I don't have access to PC/Laptop with serial port so cannot use any console connection. Thanks for any advice3KViews0likes4CommentsSlow factory reset RN214 with 3 x 1TB drives
I'm swapping from a NV+ to a RN214. All old data is backed up on USB external drive. I put the 3 1TB drives from the NV+ in the 214 and started the factory reset. 24 hrs later it had only resync'd 13% per the front panel screen. Also when I try to access the 214 with Raidar, it sees it, also shows the % complete and 3 good drive but I cannot access the 214. Is this normal. At the rate it will be a week to complete. Ps I first tried it with 4 drives. One brand new 1TB drive and the 3 from the NV+ but it kept throwing off a boot operation error.2.8KViews0likes3CommentsGSM7328Sv2 - Factory reset
Wondering if someone can help, we have had this switch for a while and it has been sat in storage for some time. We no longer know the IP of the switch, what subnet it was on etc. After powering it on and letting it boot up, I connect a machine to it and cannot connect to the management interface. It just doesn't want to play ball! If I can get onto the switch and configure its IP, I will install this at one of our other sites, but at the moment I am having some real difficulty getting its IP. I have tried using the Smart Control Center Manager app and it is not detected. Unfortunately we do not have a serial cable to connect to it, cannot run Putty etc. I have tried using the reset button at the front but I have seen online this is for rebooting the switch? Is there anyway to just reset its IP at least so I can get onto the management interface? Any help or points in the right direction would be great! :)4.8KViews0likes1CommentSRXN3205 previous config loaded, not saving new config
Due to slow performance, i was making factory reset time-to-time twice a year. In my last attempt i accidentally pressed load from previous config since than i've started facing prb. I've tried to factory reset upon reboot but no luck it's giving an error occurred message at all times. Therefore i've decided to change existing config but it's loosing config on each reboot. I've tried factory reset button 30secs while it was on, than another 30 while booting and another 30sec powered off but can't factory reset device. I'm able to access via CLI, however none of the commands are usable. Seems my firmware corrupted looking for a way to upload it again. I've also tried tftp upload but getting time-out errors. Has anyone have any idea ? I'm using this model at home and currently surviving with another pfsense solution but i'd be happy if i can bring back this device to life. Never had a problem till now. I had to move my ReadyNas to another location. Powered down, moved it, turned it back on and it's stuck on "Booting... 67%" After much internet searching, I tried diiferent options in the boot menu -- OS Reinstall, and even Factory Default (I do have everything backed up), but with both options and multiple attempts, it still stalls out while Booting, somewhere between 60-57%.The power button blinks blue, all 4 disk lights are lit up, and the ACT light is flashing steady. I left it trying to boot overnight, no progress. Was looking into the USB Recovery tool, but couldn't figure it out. Also I use a Mac and can't open exe files. I'm not sure the firmware. I haven't updated it in probably 6 months. I use this device primarily with PLEX. I would have thought a Factory Reset would do the trick. I'm just trying to get the thing back up and running. Any help is greatly appreciated!Solved5.7KViews0likes14CommentsCannot connect to WAC730 after factory reset
Please help. I am unable to access the AP after a factory reset. All the lights are coming on as normal. The router sees it and assigns it an IP. However, when I try to access the management page on that IP I get no response. I tried on 2 different routers. I know the reset occurred because the broadcast SSID reverted to the default. When I try to connect to the default SSID i dont even get an IP address assigned. The reason I had to factory reset is I incorrectly setup a vlan and the AP got isolated from the network and became inaccessible.Solved11KViews0likes12CommentsRN102 won't do the factory reset
Wanting the factory reset (push the reset button with a paperclip, put on power, see all lights go on, select Disk 1 with backup button, press the reset again with the paperclip) it won't do the reset. The power button flashes for a moment, and then... nothing happens. And since the RN102 is invisible in my network on 2 computers from one day to another, I guess I have to do the reset..? Does this mean that all data is still available on disc 2 (since it is a 2 bay NAS)? But however, I want it to work again. The factory reset is not working. What can I do?5.5KViews0likes12Comments
