ip address

I am trying to assign a staic IP address to my network printer. When I go to Avanced/Setup/LAN setup and see the Address reservation table, I find my printer and click on its radio button and click on ADD. I get the message: The IP address should be within the DHCP range. But, it is well within the range. How do I get around this? I use the Netgear genie software on an HP Envy Phoenix Desktop computer running Windows 10 with Mozilla Firefox browser version 50.1.0 and R8000 Nighthawk X6 AC3200 Smart WiFi router. I have a long list of items in the LAN setup (Advanced tab --> Setup --> LAN Setup). I cannot sort the list by IP Address or MAC Address or Device Name. I can sort this list in Access Control (Advanced tab --> Security --> Access Control), but it is not the full list of items for which I have reserved IP addresses. When I make a change to any item in the LAN Setup, it goes to the bottom of the list. I have 45 items in the list now and I want to sort them to facilitate finding an item in the list. When an item shows up in the Access Control list, I check the LAN Setup list before allowing the item to connect. I have to search through all the MAC adresses which is tedious. It would be much better if I could sort the list first. I am using Netgear genie Firmware Version V1.0.3.26_1.1.18. .27KViews4likes7CommentsDHCP - Need to release IP addresses
Hi, I want a "release" function on UTM50 as it is in many other routers. We often do a lot of test on PDA's and tablets and the IP addresses is not enough. The test itself take maybe 15 minutes and then we take one more units and so on (we also have 5 to 10 units at the same time). The standard lease is 24 h and we have lowered it to 1 h but that is not enough for us. A simple release function should do the trick, then we can release the units we want or just release all. This function is on a lot of routers today.15KViews4likes1CommentReadynas IP address wrong - how do I change it (Mac)
I've just moved offices and have a ReadyNAS NV+ as well as two ReadyNAS OS6's. I've plugged everything back in at the new location and the two ReadyNAS OS6's have picked up the new IP address and are being recognised by readycloud, but the ReadyNAS NV+ is showing a totally different IP address and not recognised by readycloud. When I open Raidar, it picks them all up, showing the difference in IP addresses. I'm sure this is an easy fix, but don't know how. Any help appreciated. I'm using a Netgear WNCE2001 to connect a NAS drive to my wireless network (Netgear R7000). Everything appeared to be working fine - I can access the drives contents on windows/network explorer and I can access the NAS's control page. However, I want to use the drive to store video from my security cameras. This requires the comera to connect with the NAS' IP address. However, the only IP address I have is that of the WNCE2001. Any way to access the IP address of the drive itself so that the cameras can connect to it?7KViews0likes12CommentsGSM7328Sv2 - Factory reset
Wondering if someone can help, we have had this switch for a while and it has been sat in storage for some time. We no longer know the IP of the switch, what subnet it was on etc. After powering it on and letting it boot up, I connect a machine to it and cannot connect to the management interface. It just doesn't want to play ball! If I can get onto the switch and configure its IP, I will install this at one of our other sites, but at the moment I am having some real difficulty getting its IP. I have tried using the Smart Control Center Manager app and it is not detected. Unfortunately we do not have a serial cable to connect to it, cannot run Putty etc. I have tried using the reset button at the front but I have seen online this is for rebooting the switch? Is there anyway to just reset its IP at least so I can get onto the management interface? Any help or points in the right direction would be great! :)4.8KViews0likes1CommentWN2500RP Extender Unable to Connect
I have seen numerous discussions here about extenders not being able to connect to devices. The answers are somewhat vague and not necessarily definitive. I have just finished a paid for support call and have found the symptom and looking for a solution. The Problem: Windows 7 machine, trying to connect to the Netgear WN2500RP. Using the Genie support app I have gone through all the steps (multiple times) including factory resetting the extender, rebooting the computer (and my smartphone also trying to connect to the extender) even including adding the MAC addresses to the main router. Nothing works, the extender will not connect with any devices. The lights on the extender are all green as they should be. Here is what I paid to find out. The extender is sending out a strong signal to the devices, but it is sending to the wrong IP address. This is why nothing will connect. So the question to Netgear Experts is, how do I change the outgoing IP address on the Netgear Extender? If possible, please include some easy to understand step by step processes that anyone coming across this thread (and from my reading there are many) can do to change the out going signal to the correct matching IP address to allow the devices to communicate. Thank you very much for your assistance.4.2KViews0likes2CommentsSpecify IP address range for bypass of blocked sites and parental controls
We run a number of Chrome OS devices in our house (and thus can't install the Netgear Genie app on these devices), but would like to bypass blocked keywords/sites/domans and parental controls on these devices (note: plural). Apparently, the router firmware currently only allows specification of only 1 IP address that can bypass the keyword/site/domain blocking. Does anyone else have any ideas of how to allow multiple Chrome OS devices to bypass? Is Netgear planning to implement more granularity for these settings based on IP address ranges anytime soon? Frankly, I expected this from a $250 router when routers from other companies that cost half have this feature.Solved3.4KViews0likes1Comment
