Orbi 371 system: mac can't connect to printer
Orbi RBE371 with a satellite. Firmware version V12.1.3.11_5.1.12 My MacBook Pro has no issues connecting to the Canon MFP660 series printer and printing. My wife's MacBook Air has terrible trouble using the printer. It frequently can't connect. What used to work is deleting the printer from her mac and re-adding it. Then it would work for awhile. Now it doesn't. I can see the printer using bonjour, but when I go to add it it says it can't connect to the printer. I tried pinging the printer from her mac. Timeout every time. No problem pinging from my computer. Both macs on the same wireless band (5 GHz); the printer is on 2.4 GHz. The printer is currently connected to the satellite. We've just puechesed a Orbi mesh system (370 series) one router, two satilites. We've had three attempts at this on two diferent IOS devices. We follow the setup and every thing happens as it's supposed to. We join the orbi network just fine but when the orbi app tries to find the device we get an "object not found" message. Local network access is enabled on the orbi app and we're connected to the orbi network but we cannot access to the routers admin. We also tried both published IP addresses to log into the routher and neither resolve. 192.168.1.1 or 10-168.168.1 .... Hello, I am looking for help troubleshooting a persistent speed bottleneck on my Netgear Orbi 370 Wi-Fi 7 Mesh System. My ISP is Hawaiian Telcom Fiber (900 Mbps download). The Orbi App speed test measures a perfect 900 Mbps coming into the main router. Wi-Fi devices easily pull 600 Mbps download / 500 Mbps upload. My wired PC connection drops drastically and caps at 200 Mbps download, though the upload reaches 500 Mbps. Troubleshooting already completed: Verified the computer's OS link speed is fully negotiated at 1000/1000 (Mbps). Verified no ASUS or Realtek network prioritization bloatware (like GameFirst or Turbo LAN) is installed on the computer. Performed a full Windows network reset and verified TCP Auto-Tuning is set to normal. Swapped out Ethernet cables and tested different LAN ports on different PCs and laptops on the Orbi. Because Wi-Fi is fast but the hardwired Ethernet ports are choking the download specifically to 200 Mbps, I suspect there is a specific Orbi firmware bug, QoS setting, or profile limitation happening on the router side. Any advice?Firmware updates
If firmware updates are as important as I think they are, why does Netgear make it so difficult to update. I have an RBE371 that has firmware version v12.1.3.11 and when I click update firmware in the app it comes back and says no new firmware is available. If I go to the download center v12.1.3.12 is available and has been seen January 2026. 7 months later and the app still won't update the router! I can't get to the router directly as I get messages it can't authenticate my log in. So whatever security holes you identify remain wide open for me and undoubtedly many others.Orbi 37x and Local Network Control Block (224.0.0/24) multicast
Dear all, I have an Orbi setup (RBE371 and 2x RBE370) that is causing me headaches with LAN multicast. One of my music application leverages multicast against 224.0.0.234 for node/companion discovery to build a multiroom group of players. Unfortunately, RBEs are not letting this traffic going through and I'm not sure about the rationale behind it as (1) Netgear ethernet switches in my LAN are doing the job, (2) this multicast address is part of the Local Network block, so non routable, so no IGMP involvement if I understand well and (3) other protocols from the same block are going through properly, e.g. mDNS Netgear support is telling me black & white on this topic, sometimes that the satellite should let these packets go through the router/satellite and in the same thread that I need to set my FAI router with IGMP features which does not make sense for this address block. Can someone explain me what's wrong here, in the setup or in my understanding? Tks! Map satellites to router only (not to another Satellite) I have Orbi 870 Router with 3 satelites I want all 3 to connect directly to the router and not attach to another satellite. See the attached picture No matter where I put the satellites they keep connecting to each otherOrbi 370 satellites not pushing past 40-50mbps while main router is getting 1000+mbps
I'd like to preference this by saying I'm not super internet savvy. But I recently purchased a orbi 370 mesh system with 2 satellites. I am getting amazing output from my main router at around 1000+ mbps upload but my two satellites (using wireless) are in other rooms of my house around 30-40 feet away are pushing only around 30-40 mbps. I've considered running hard lined ethernets to them but before doing that has anyone else ran into this issue? Or found a solution?WiFi Drops Every Hour
Hello - Same issue for me here. My setup is made of one RBE371 and 2xRBE370, firmware V12.1.3.11_5.1.12, acquired end of October 2025. Initially I thought the issue was coming from my ISP Live TV stream that was freezing for 1 to 5 second every hour (my ISP TV box is connected via WiFi to a RBS), knowing that during the same period my ISP had also some TV stream issues on their side. But now the ISP issues have been fixed and I still have these hourly freezes. Today, after reading these posts, I started a ping against the IP address of the RBR from a Mac connected via WiFi to a RBS nearby, just before the time the issue was expected to happen. I could then see, at the expected issue time, the RBR no longer responding to the ping and the TV live stream having the issue at the same time. I applied a channel value change to the 5 gHz following recommendations read earlier in the thread, the drop issue didn't disappear but change time to the time the wifi channel change was applied (was previously every 34' past an hour, now 5' past an hour). So I'm now convinced that something recurrently en regularly happens in the Netgear setup that impacts my user experience. Hello, I recently upgraded my old Orbi system to a 370. Since then, I have regular network interruption issues on most of my main Wi-Fi-enabled devices. Sonos and Spectrum issues mostly. Every hour or so, the internet connection will pause. This drives my wife crazy when she is watching one of her shows. :P My once-very-good internet connection to my laptop is sluggish and struggles to connect. Can someone help?
