I know that my ReadyNAS nv+ v2 is no longer supported, however I would like to use it as a place to store data that can easily be reproduced. I've had it fitted from day 1 with two 3 TB Western Digital WD30EFRX drives using X-raid2 (effectively using RAID-1 giving me 3 TB of net capacity). I got hold of four 3 TB Hitachi DK7SAD300 drives; my plan is to install all 4 drives in my ReadyNAS (giving me 9 TB of net capacity in RAID-5). Here's what I plan to do: Create a backup of the existing data on one of the Hitachi DK7SAD300 drives (done). Remove existing two Western Digital WD30EFRX drives from my ReadyNAS. Install three of the four Hitachi DK7SAD300 drives in my ReadyNAS; perform a factory reset and install using RaidAR version 4.3.8; my plan is to use X-raid2 again, so will end up with a single volume. Copy the data back from the backup created under (1). Finally, insert the final Hitachi DK7SAD300drive in the ReadyNAS (destroying the backup on there). Any suggestions or recommendations? Alternatively, I could create a backup on one of the two Western Digital WD30EFRXdrives (removing one from the ReadyNAS). And configure the ReadyNAS with all four Hitachi DK7SAD300 drives from the start. Only drawback is that I would have to backup my data once more (which will take a couple of days over 1 Gbps ethernet). And should I use or 4.3.8 of RaidAR software? I also came across 6.5.0. Finally, should the above plan hit any issues. Can I still put my two Western Digital WD30EFRX drives back in my ReadyNAS? Thanks!112Views0likes6CommentsBacking up Time Machine sparse bundles
I have a couple of Macs backing up successfully to my ReadyNas Pro (running 6.10.10). I can browse the files in Finder if I log in as admin. What I cannot seem to do, is schedule a backup within the ReadyNas UI of the folder that the sparesebundles are in. The folder is hidden and won't show up, and you can't free text the source directory field. I'll add that I currently backup up all my other ReadyNas data to rotating USB drives. I'd like to include the sparsebundles. Anyone know how to get a hidden directory included in the USB backups?ReadyNAS 104 - Max DIsk Capacity

Right now I have 12 TB(10.9 TB usable) Is it possible to upgrade to 4x8 TB HDDs? Will I get 24 TB or will I run into issues?Port mirroring in FS205v2 or GS205v2
Hi All, Actually, I am looking to buy a switch with port mirroring function. I browsed on line and also on NetGear web site and there is not so much info on what I am looking for. I narrow down (I assume these models have) to some models and hope these models support port mirroring. I need to do an urgent purchasing by this week so any comment is appreciate. Here are the models that I am looking at : FS205vs, GS205vs. Can any one highlight on "port mirroring" is available on these two models? I am going to make the purchasing in Singapore and hope these two models are available in Singapore region. Thanks.Solved1.8KViews0likes2CommentsWhat ReadyNAS Would You Choose and Why? Discussion Topic
Hi ReadyNAS Community. I wanted to try something a little different here by posing a question and seeing what kinds of answers we all come up with together. If someone new came to you who needed a ReadyNAS Network Storage solution, what questions would you ask to help them choose a ReadyNAS product? Have you tried the ReadyNAS Network Storage selector? Is there anything you would add or remove from it to make it better? Thanks! -NETGEAR_BretDSolved735Views0likes1CommentC6300 wifi 2.4ghz and 5ghz The speed of the Internet will drop randomly.

I thought it was set up the problem, restore factory settings, but the problem still exists, before my network service package is 30MB, without this problem, my firmware is the latest!3KViews0likes1CommentPurchased 12TB ReadyNas 214, only seeing 8TB available.
I purchased the 12TB model of NETGEAR ReadyNAS 214, 4x3TB Desktop (RN214D43-100NES) on Amazon, but I only appear to be getting 8TB, and I'm wondering if they sent me the wrong model? See "data 8.17 free of 8.17" In "Volumes", the display on the right indicates I DO have 4x3TB (which should = 12TB), but the display on the left still shows only 8.17 TB available. Is this a result of RAID 5 and all is normal? Or is something wrong? Where are are my other 4TBs? I'm on a Macbook using OS X Yosemite 10.10.5, and firmware 6.4.1. Thanks in advance for any help! ParkerSolvedReadynas Remote configuration problem
I have an Ultra 4 and have installed Readynas Remote. When I get to the part in the setup where it says "Select remote users to give share access" I fill in my user name and click to apply the settings and get the message "user name for authentication missing" and I do not get past this stage. What shall I do?
