RAX50 Bug: Advanced Access Control Table Cache Corrupted on 2.4GHz for Months (Firmware v1.0.17.142)
Hi everyone, I am posting this here in hopes that a Netgear Community Moderator or Engineer can escalate a severe, ongoing firmware bug affecting my Nighthawk RAX50 running firmware version v1.0.17.142_2.0.100. I have been dealing with this critical ACCESS CONTROL issue for months, and it completely breaks the Advanced Access Control feature, making it entirely impossible to maintain a secure network. The Problem: When Access Control is enabled, my primary device (an iPhone 14) randomly loses internet access on the 2.4 GHz band and gets kicked offline. When I log into the router's web admin panel to see what happened, my device is listed under "View list of allowed devices not currently connected to the network." Technical Details & What I've Tested: Private Addresses Are Off: On the iPhone 14, "Private Wi-Fi Address", "Limit IP Address Tracking", and "iCloud Private Relay" are all completely turned off. The phone is broadcasting its true hardware MAC address. The Glitch: The router's 2.4 GHz radio module is refusing to transition the true MAC address from the offline cache back to the active table. It gets permanently stuck in the "allowed but not connected" state. UI Controls Don't Work: Selecting the device and clicking "Remove from list" or trying to manually "Add" it back fails to flush the routing table. The internal NVRAM database holds onto the duplicate ghost entry and rejects it. The Only Fixes: The only way to get the device back online is to completely disable Access Control (leaving my network insecure) or perform a painful factory reset—only for the bug to return a few weeks later. This has been happening repeatedly for months. Netgear needs to fix this ASAP: This is a massive security and usability disaster. Advanced Access Control is a core feature that consumers pay for to protect their homes. Having the router actively knock out permitted connections and lock up its own routing table renders the security layer useless. Has anyone else found a permanent workaround for this table caching glitch? Can a Netgear Moderator please escalate this ticket directly to the firmware engineering team so it can be patched? On my RAX50 (latest firmware, V1.0.17.142_2.0.100), I'm trying to set up email alerts. But no matter what port I enter in the Outgoing Mail Server Port Number field, the router doesn't accept it and doesn't save the settings. I tried port 465, 587, 25, custom ports, for example, 999, or left the field empty - the router doesn't accept any value. I want to say right away that the issue is not with my mail service; you don't need to tell me which ports Gmail or Outlook uses. The problem is not that mail is not received or sent; I don't even get to this stage. I just can't enter any port number value; the router doesn't accept any. What should I do? Maybe someone knows which port my router will work with? Do email alerts work on it at all?Any clue if 1.1.6.36 fixes the login issues in 1.1.4.28

I have 500/500mbps internet. I have tested the speed on my desktop (wired) it showed 550/550mbps, but devices connected to wifi get slower speeds than what I get over wired. I tested some devices within a few feet from the router all on 5ghz in the same room. My phone gets around 300mbps download and 120 upload Wifi 6 laptop gets around 350mbps down 150 up I have checked wifi channels, it is a bit crowded in my neighborhood. A lot of nearby wifi networks are on the lower channels and not many on the higher channels (149+), but higher channels give me worse signal and speed. I have restarted the router, did not change. The router is not in a terrible spot, there is a home phone next to it but probably won't interfere. We don't have a lot of devices in our home running simultaneously or heavy usage. Are my wifi speeds normal?Readyshare stopped recognizing any USB drives
I had not used my 500GB external hard drive in a long while but recently tried to access it and Readyshare portal says "no USB drive" so I tried connecting a small USB drive and it still says "no usb" drive. At first I had thought the 500GB SSD went bad but when the smaller flash drive gave the same results it makes me think there is a problem with the Rax50 itself. I tried rebooting but still the same results. What might be the usual reasons why Readyshare previously showed my USB drive and now stopped showing it or any other USB drive ? Thanks in advance for any ideas !
