27 TopicsSwitching to Community Fibre from BT UK
Hi Does anyone know if the transition from BT FTTP to Community Fibre FTTP is worth it or has anyone on here switched providers? BT is £20 more p/m compared to CF 1Gbps offering which offers symmetrical up and down speeds vs BTs. Id also like to know if anyone who has switched connected their RBR850 direct to the CF ONT and if they know the username/password combo? Or sacked off their ORBI for their own mesh system? Appreciate BT is a major player in the market and CF are newbies, but the saving plus better upload speeds cannot be ignored. I have read good and bad reviews from both suppliers and although I've never had an issue with BT, their reluctance to offer a deal to stay with them has made me look elsewhere. Anything thoughts or experiences would be greatly received! Thanks ChrisOrbi RBK 852 Wi-Fi Drop Issue (RBR850/RBS850)
Hi all, I'm having ongoing issues with my brand new Orbi AX6000 (RBK852) system. My place is actually less than half the size of the coverage sq footage (2200 sq ft). But my modem is upstairs and our main entertainment setup is on the opposite side downstairs (streaming/PS5) so one router was giving it weak signals. Orbi Firmware: V7.2.7.15_5.1.16 (says latest) Total connected devices: 16: 2 computers, 3 smart phones, 2 gaming consoles, and rest are IoT (on IoT 2.4Ghz) TL;DR: Main work computer is 5 ft from the router/modem. Wi-Fi is constantly dropping and kicking me off Zoom calls (like every 30-60 mins) which I rely on for work (I'm on 4-5 hours a day). No issues when wired, but I didn't spend $500+ on a router so I can have an ugly wire going across my office. Work computer is 2023 Macbook Pro M3 Max and main mobile devices are iPhone 16 Pro. So not an older hardware issue. Issue has been escalated to Level 3 Support but no responses and it's been 2 weeks. Steps I've tried already: Support made me do a factory reset once. Didn't solve it. They also had me setup custom DNS settings and it actually made connection worse. Disabled Auto Firmware Update. Set 2.4Ghz to Channel 1 and 5Ghz to Channel 36. Set up IoT SSID as 2.4Ghz only (smart devices are working fine). Placement of satellite is good (within 20 ft, almost directly under modem). Can't do Ethernet backhaul. I sent multiple Debug Logs from both router and satellite to Support. Honestly not sure what the issue is. I've been reading online that mesh systems like this have band steering issues bouncing between 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz, but I don't see why that would be an issue when I'm so close and stationary. My questions: Does anyone have a similar issue? It sounds from online that others have experienced something similar, though not exact. If so, is there a fix? Is it possible it's just a hardware issue and I should just return or exchange? Trying this as my last resort since Support is of no help and they say Level 3 Support will get back to me when they feel like it.ORBI App Strange Message
I own an RBK853 ORBI system. Has been running fine for several years. Currently on V7.2.7.15_5.1.16 firmware. Had a power outage and rebooted my system yesterday. Went to use ORBI app on my iPhone this morning and got an odd message stating, "This Orbi is linked to a different account." My RBK853 system has been registered since 2023 and currently shows up in "My Registered Products". I get this page if I select "Fix This Issue". I'm not willing to do a factory reset just for ORBI app's sake. The web-based app is working fine. Any idea why this is happening? Are there any work-arounds? Thanks for your help!I have a similar issue with my RBR850 but I'm on V7.2.6.21
flyingdutchgeek I have a similar issue with my RBR850 but I'm on V7.2.6.21, wired backhaul and every time I look at the satellite its either magenta, white and blue. I disabled the firmware updates because of screwup by netgear and releasing code that was an absolute mess. I wonder if something else has changed (Carrier or ???) that is not compatible with Orbi. FURRYe38 do you have a link handy for the firmware available?RBR850 Unable to join network
I have the rbr850 and 2 rbs850 satellites. I am running the latest firmware. This is a new setup. My devices every few days will disconnect from the Orbi router and when I try to reconnect it says “unable to join network” I then have to reboot the Orbi router to reconnect. It only happens with my Orbi router. Not my satellites. They seem to work fine. Anyone have any idea what could be the issue.RBR850 - add on satellite no longer available, how to add a previously used satellite
I have an RBR850 router with 2 satellites. I needed a third satellite, but am told this is an old model and not available anymore. So I bought a used add-on satellite, and reset it. But I can't seem to pair it with my existing router. I thought it's because the firmware on this used satellite is not the latest, but I can't update seem to update it either. Any tips on what to do?RBK850 - refused to connect
Hi All, My previously fully functioning RBK850 with the latest firmware does not allow me to connect on his IP address, neither the app can connect. It is simply telling to me "Refused to connect". I tried to power cycle the device with not much luck. I really want to avoid any factory reset - is there any other option? (I have 1 satellite connected)Share your Orbi 350, 750, 850 or 960 series system UpTime
Found on the routers and RBS IP address/debug.htm web page for best details, please post both RBR and RBS uptime. Please note of any inconsistencies between the RBR and RBS. Generally the RBR and RBS uptime should be same. Home wide power brown outs should be noted if these are seen. Thank you.Can backhaul be done without having all orbi’s connected to the same switch?
Great thread! RBR850 + RBS850: Ethernet Backhaul in AP Mode - Horrible Performance or bad connection | NETGEAR Communities I just purchased these Orbi’s. I’m looking to do wired backhaul. I’m using a separate switch connected to a MOCA adapter on each floor of my house. Can backhaul be done without having all orbi’s connected to the same switch?SolvedProblems running media player
Modem/WiFi: Sagemcom Pack f@st 3896 v3.3 CHVU Router/MESH: ORBI 850 router, one satellite Extra WiFi: Apple Time Capsule Mediaplayer with IDAGIO and QOBUZ installed for streaming music. Problem: When running the media player on the ORBI MESH, respons to the play commands is either very delayed or, more often, there is no response at all. Random clicking on the playlist will sometimes elicit a response, but not always. If I connect to the Sagemcom or Time Capsule WiFi everything works normally. The problems started a few months ago after several trouble free years. Both the media player and the ORBI are up to date and there has not been any recent updates installed. No other problems with the ORBI. It seems to that the ORBI router has developed a problem to transmit the necessary commands. Any ideas out there?
